Good cloth - for smaller jobs.

Jul 14, 2019

This is nice light cloth, but beware - it only comes in small pieces. Although many users won't care because they'll use the cloth with the weave running at 90° to the job (it's big enough to cover most wings and fuselage sides that way), proper wing reinforcement should run at 45° to the span. Turning these small pieces to 45° makes them suitable for covering only quite small wings, so please be warned: if you order 6 metres to do a big diagonal lay-up, the cloth will be supplied in small sections!
I'm only working on 250g planes at present, so I found this stuff worked well. It'd still be better if the cloth came in a continuous length, though.

Use this to make 1/5 scale warbirds. Perfect weight, light but strong and very consistent quality, no variation. Great size pieces, easy to work with and very good price

Why doesn’t this itch?

Oct 22, 2018

I have used tons of fiberglass from body work, to fabrication, to welding mats and this is the first matting that didn’t make me itch. I don’t know why? I think the finish seals the fibers better or maybe the weave quality? I just know for fabrication of small stuff I will only use this matting!

Good product, good price

I used this cloth on a 60" slope soarer made from blue foam, all except for the tail surfaces which used HK's 18gsm cloth. It adds a lot of strength and rigidity for very little extra weight. I applied it with water based polyurethane and it works just fine.
