    HobbyKing 3D Printer Filament 1.75mm PLA 1KG Spool (Glow in the Dark - Green)

    HobbyKing have come out with a huge new range of 3D Printer Filaments at prices that will have you printing all day and all night.

    The range covers PLA, ABS, Flexible, Color Changing, Luminous, Nylon, Polycarbonate, Acetal (POM), Metal Composite and even a water soluble filament for printing molds. HobbyKing filaments have a stable melting point, good round shape and most importantly a 0.05mm uniform diameter tolerance for a consistent flow rate.

    PLA:

    PLA has a lower melting point and prints easier than other materials. One of the most important features is that PLA is non-toxic, and even has a sweet smell when printing. PLA has a low shrinkage rate and it is very rigid with minimal flex. This material can print extremely high resolution models and is perfect for a wide range of uses. PLA is considered stronger than ABS but is more susceptible to cracking when subjected to flexing, impact or torsional loads so the mechanical needs of the print project need to be evaluated.

    PLA has a huge range of vibrant colors and opacity for that perfect look whether it is artistic or utilitarian, in short a great material for 3D printing. PLA can be printed without the use of a heat bead, and can stick to glass or a PCB plate with a binder such as hairspray or white glue for a curl free print.

    Too brittle

    Great Glow in the Dark

    This is the second Hobby King filament I have used and I am very pleased with its performance on my 3D printer. I really like the luminescent property of the filament which I used to print a figure for my grandson. Great quality for a superior price. You will not be disappointed!

    Es hat ein par Versuche gedauert die richtigen Parameter zu finden, aber jetzt bekomme ich super Druckergebnisse:
    Bed: 70°C Anzeige! Gemessen Oberfläche: 57°C
    Nossle: 230°C
    Speed: 60mm/s
    Lüfter: 100%
    Bed justiert auf 0,08mm.
    leuchtet super schick im dunkeln, die Dauer hält sich jedoch in Grenzen... sehr stabiles Material...
    Aus meine Sicht sehr empfehlenswert!

    Glow in the dark simply won't stick to any bed

    While regular PLA from Hobbyking as well as ABS prints very well, the glow in the dark PLA was just a nightmare to get to stick on any surface. I don't know, maybe I just had a bad batch(?). It won't stick well on glass, glue stick, only mediocre on tape. I tried temperatures between 200 and 225, bed temp between 50 and 70. However it's pretty obvious that it won't extrude very evenly. Which is probably due to the very coarse surface.

    Good value, easy to print, glows in the dark!

    Initial impressions are good, tried printing a few spiders and a bat for Halloween so far, nothing large.
    Sticks to the bed well at 50 degrees and seems to flow well at a nozzle temperature of 210. Much higher and I found it strings a bit, any lower and it can clog the hot-end. It's quite course when extruded, so will wear a brass nozzle pretty quickly.
    Glows quite brightly for a minute or two. All-in-all not bad value.
