Used this with reasonable results in the HK Reaktor. Had to glue in the magnets before first run as 2 were loose! GWS 8043 prop is the upper limit for the ESC on 2S Nanotech 1000mah battery. 6 to 7 minute flights with mixed power settings. Not exactly a speed demon but enough to have fun.

GWS Combo - 15A ESC + 2205/15T

Nov 14, 2007

Good quality combination. Powers a small pusher very nicely with a 6030 prop and small 2S pack (~ 400-500mAh). Above combination gives roughly 240g thrust at 9A.

Hallo,

Damit geht mein DizzyBird senkrecht!

great combo

This is great combo for small pusher props. Plenty of thrust for light weight planes. Nice and quiet.

Great combo

Nov 14, 2007

Bought 2 of them and with 8038 props mounted on a homemade homedesigned foamy. It screams and they stay in sync really well. Running on two 2s Zippy 1000's, but going to try using just one as they don't really zap the pair. Can't believe how close to identical their RPM is.. Great!

GWS Combo - 15A ESC + 2205/15T

Nov 14, 2007

Great motor/esc combo. I use this on all my epp foam planes.

The first thing I do is remove the connectors and replace with 3.5mm barrel connectors, or whatever your favorite. Then replace the shaft (after you face plant your plane) with a new 3mm rod, easily found in old cd-roms used to guide the laser unit.

The original bearings did go fairly quick, but after replacing (use bearings meant for heli 3mmx7mmx3mm, they seem to last forever), I easily get 14.2oz thrust at 9.4amp draw with my 7.4v lipos pushing a 8x4 prop. WOW!! Makes my planes take off nearly vertically. I have also placed this on my slightly heavier 12.2oz planes and still can get vertical climb.

Only gave it 4 stars due to connectors and bearings being less then good quality. BUT I do recommend this motor/esc combo to anyone looking for a beefy weightless (about 1oz) motor.
