This kit gices 2.61oz of thrust with the already installed brushed motor. Changing to a Feigao brushless system would create a great deal more power.

Suits motors with a diameter no larger than 12mm

This kit comes with the CN12-RLC motor installed. It can be replaced with a brushless motor for better performance.

I needed a ductfan for a school-experiment (I'm a physicsteacher).
Put it on a cart on a air-cushion-rails. Just needed 1 AA 1,2 V battery to give the cart a decent acceleration.
Couldn't use a brushless because of lack of esc at my school.

Great (and cheap) product.

Bought even more GWS 50mm EDF,s. With for example brushless motors

high Kv I save over 85g on A-10 and it flies exellent. Its not built for supersonic but makes big loops. Are building an A-7 corsair. Same same, 50 mm GWS setup. Most buck for the dollar. search on the net for impellers. robotbirds UK is one

Well working 50 mm EDF unit. Save more than 85 g on 2x50 with A-10.

Using Feigao 12 mm motors. Hints: Drill 2 small holes opposite side of case. Just between front of engine and back of fan. 2 small screwdrivers and bend lightly. 2:Sandpaper new motoraxel slightly. Tiny amount of Epoxi in the fanhole. Voila.

I use it to power a cart on a air-tube. Not very much thrust, but I don't need that. I just need a impellor that will go on just a couple of AA's

It is OK, but they say it could be made more efectiv with a brushless motor. Hovewer that is easier said than done. The engine is fasten to the duct with a glue ? and therefor it is impossible to remove without breaking the impeller and duct. I have bought BA BL1230 to no use.

Used as DD for Esky HB FP/Dyna

Nov 14, 2007

Read up some articles on using as DD for the FP helis using the N motors. Item works great and only warm after prolonged hover. Only drawback is the high pitch sound of the EDF unit but I do not have to worry about replacing tail blades anymore....
