Looking for the perfect trainer? Or an in-expensive FPV platform? Maybe you are a club pilot looking for something you can just pull out of the car and fly on one of those lazy Sunday afternoons? The Hobbyking® ™ Bixler® ™ 2 ticks all of these boxes and more! The Bixler® ™ 2 has had some improvements to make it even better such as a bigger air inlet for better motor cooling of the uprated motor.
This version of the Bixler® ™ 2 comes as a "Plug and Play" which means that you will need a 6CH 2.4GHz radio system, a 3S 2200mAh lipoly battery and a battery charger. Just finish the assembly of the plane, setup your radio system and add your battery, power up the model and fly. It's that easy!
The Bixler® ™ 2 has all the right ingredients, made from super tough EPO foam, everything is pre-installed so minimal assembly time is required, in fact, by the time you have charged a battery, it should be ready to fly! The combination of size, low wing loading and a sleek fuselage makes for an excellent model with capable yet forgiving flight characteristics. The plug in wing makes the Bixler® ™ a practical model that is easy to transport to your favorite flying field and can be ready to fly in just minutes. Another practical feature of the Bixler® ™ 2 is its ability to accept a wide range of Lipoly sizes and/or FPV equipment courtesy of the enlarged canopy area. The Bixler® ™ 2 also comes with optional flaps which are pre-hinged (servos not included). The flaps are particularly ideal for FPV pilots carrying a heavier payload. The final improvement was to re-design the boom area to allow the Bixler® ™ 2 use a low KV motor and larger prop combo, which is more efficient and offers a more linear throttle response.
The larger wing, flaps & much larger canopy area mean that the Bixler® ™ 2 is now so much more versatile in terms of FPV use and for new pilots and experienced pilots alike who are simply flying for fun, these new design features, combined with the larger, more efficient prop mean that the Bixler® ™ 2 offers longer flight times. However you decide to fly the Bixler® ™ 2, you can be assured that it is still just as easy and fun to fly as ever!

Have flown it twice for a total of 4 flights. On the first day, the foam strip on the bottom started coming loose but that was my fault for not gluing it down. On the second day, it flew perfect. It is for learning or teaching. I managed to do several rolls but did not try loops. It loses altitude fast on rolls so go up very high. I would buy this plane again if I had to teach someone to fly. I changed the wire holder (the ones that hold the screw to lock the wings in place) to a black plastic washer and bright orange yarn so that it is easier to remove the screws for disassembly.Plane flies well, but is not a floater and is correctly listed as a starters plane. It will do some simple acrobatics The only major issue is the very cheap water transfers. You will find they just start falling off everywhere.I like the plane overall. It is a good flying plane great for training or the slow relaxing flights. It does have some misses however. The first is the decals. They look great, but the peel easily. The instructions could have been included in the box and this is where I think the biggest miss is. This is labeled a beginners plane. If a beginner did get it the instructions online leaves a lot of doubt on what to do. The last thing is the motor and prop combination. Although adequate, it could use a little more power. Wish there was a recommended easily replaced motor that would fit on original mount. That is just my two cents on things.Easy to build and just as easy to fly. I built it in 30 mins. Nice starting plane for my broIt's a good size plane with good flying characteristics but i pushed it a little too far and the wings folded when coming out of a loop and the plane was lost. It could use a bit more power and the wing spar should be secured a bit better. Will i buy another? No. It's a good value but just don't expect much as far as acrobatic capability.I had hoped this would be a little better finished than the first one but alas it is not. The transfers have a lot of bubbles and bits behind them and are just as brittle as the first. Touch them and they crumble and stick to your fingers leaving the model looking untidy. My package did not have any instructions included, okay they are on the net but that is not the point. Everything else appears to be there and okay. Overall - Disappointed.
