The H-King Fokker D.VII is a beautiful replica of the historical German World War I biplane fighter. It is built from balsa, ply, and comes factory covered in film with molded plastic parts for a realistic scale look.

The Fokker D.VII came into service for the German Air Force (Deutsche Luftstreitkräfte) in May 1918 and became known as being a very maneuverable single-seat biplane. It had a good rate of climb and could prop hang for a short period of time, had a very docile stall, and was hard to spin making it an ideal flying machine. After the war, the Allies took large numbers of aircraft and they were used by a large number of air forces worldwide.

As a plug and fly (PNF) model, the H-King Fokker D.VII comes with pre-applied covering film and stickers plus the molded plastic cowl, guns, and wheels to provide a very realistic look. All electrics are pre-installed including a 2212-1000KV motor, 20amp ESC, and 4 x 9g servos. There is some assembly such as fitting the wings, rudder, and wheels and you will also need to supply a 2200mAh 3S 40C battery and radio system for flying.

Overall the Fokker D.VII is a fantastic airplane to fly and you should be able to do all the stunts that the original aircraft did as well as great scale flying.

• Lightweight balsa and plywood construction

Sweet little Fokker

Apr 05, 2020

Great little plane for the money! It does need an experienced hand for t/o and landing, nothing special, just has a narrow gear and needs power all the way down. Landing gear is soft aluminum but that's kind of a blessing since it easy to let it slow down too much on final. In the air it's a real gem! It flies much like it's full size counterpart and even does a great impression of hanging on the prop like the Germans who flew them in the war were known for! Be sure to check the control horns and linkages, I lost mine after the elevator linkage let go. I'll be ordering another soon tho!

Light and elegant

Jul 24, 2019

I haven't had a chance to fly this model yet, but I have put it together; it seems reasonably well made, although I suspect it might be a little fragile here and there; the interplane and cabane strut mountings in particular. One of the interplane strut mountings was broken off when I received it, but I was able to repair it. The main difficulty I found was assembling the cabane struts; there is nothing in the kit to indicate where they are to be mounted on the fuselage. No "dimples", no pre-drilled holes, no marks, not even a paper template; this last would have been really simple to provide. It was a complete nightmare as the struts don't fit readily in any configuration and have to be "strained" a bit in order to fit at all. If any of the self tapping screws is badly out of position, this could lead to a severely weakened structure.
There's a lack of detail, too; no guns, no pilot, little engine detail; but I suppose these might increase the cost and they can be added "to taste". The radiator is extremely fragile and not securely mounted. I will maiden without it!
In all, fair value for a "built up" model, it looks fragile (especially those flexible metal undercarriage struts!) but elegant and not too difficult to balance-I only had to add 30g of ballast to the nose. Not for blustery conditions!

H-King Fokker D.VII biplane

Jul 11, 2019

Very good quality. Fast build, you need a little experience building rc airplanes. Pay attention to the wing strut assembly. Had to re-enforce the upper wing mounts and cover them with scraps of film covering i had laying around. Excellent job of covering. I could not have done as good a job at covering. Had to install over 2 ounces of weight at nose to balance the aircraft. The plane flies very scale like. must land with a bit of power or else your vertical decent will be to great. Not a plane for beginners. you must have a bit of experience at flying. I am sure if I could find a way to eliminate the nose weight that I had to install for balancing the plane would fly even better and lighter.

Fun Build

Jun 21, 2019

Plane went together well, played a bit with wing alignment but got it perfect. Nose cone was a bit flimsy, not attached very well. Reinforced the nose cone with balsa, now I can attach with two small screws. Besides that small modification, lots of fun. Enjoy!

Loved this plane. A nice size for my local park and great colour for visibility. Would be nice if landing gear had some "give" but overall not a deal breaker.

Fokker d7

Jun 03, 2019

The fokker d7 is super detailed, expertly covered. The instructions that I downloaded need to be improved. The instructions on how the wing struts are mounted to the body are not good. I was able to figure out a way for mounting the upper wing that worked well. The main mounts in the upper wing broke loose, so I had to cut away the covering in the small wing bays to reattach and re-enforce. I had some red covering so it patched easy. Overall after the modifications and repairs it was well worth it. The plane is a true beauty and at a great price. I would rate it a 4.5 out of 5.
