Tired of having to wade out into the lake to retrieve your flipped Tunnel Hull? If so the H-King Marine Hydrotek with its self-righting ability is the boat for you!

The H-King Marine Hydrotek ARR and RTR Lite version Tunnel Hull is a near scale replica of the super competitive F1 Tunnel Hull racing boats seen around the world.

Water cooled ESC and motor, scale like appearance of the lustrous paint scheme and expertly applied decals along with the boats self-righting ability and speeds of +55km/h set this little gem apart from any of its competitors. Check the specs!

The H-King Marine Hydrotek F1 boat features an intelligent hull design for self-righting. When the boat accidentally flips during high speed running, don’t worry, as the left hull sponson has in integrated flood chamber that will assist in the self-righting of the boat. Once the sponson is flooded, pull the throttle trigger to maximum on your transmitter in a quick burst, the boat will automatically self-right and continue racing. The flooded self-righting sponson will drain out in the first few seconds of operation from the hole of left-rear hull and then its business as usual.

Lid popped off after a minor front end crash. The hull, minus the lid quickly sank as there is no buoyancy in the flooding sponson to preserve the electrics. Poor design.

Got this bad boy during the hobby king kong sale for $60! Great boat in general. self righting feature is so trick! Flipped it every time i have run it and never had to go swimming yet. Having some slight trouble with the servo. small amounts of water come through the prop shaft and after a couple runs the servo starts messing up. I am assuming from moisture. for $60 i have no complaints... but be aware that the servo is a little glitchy after running a while.

Great value for price.

Handling is reasonable considering the no rudder config, light weight and high speed.

One problem 'out of the box' was the sealing of the hatch. It was on crooked and the boat took on a lot of water, fast. When it's full of water the self righting doesn't work. Fortunately we were able to use the boat as an air-boat and get it to shore so we did not have to swim :)

I dislike flexible shafts without grease tube/nipple. Also it's a bit louder compared to a fixed shaft.

So quality 4 out of 5 but well worth the money regardless.

Great speed, great fun, great value for money.

Didn't check running time on the first run, since I wanted to fix the leak first, but my impression is that it has a pretty good running time. It's definitely not dead within 5 minutes. More like 10 from the looks of it, maybe even more. (2200mAh Turnigy 3S LiPo).

I have to say that this is a great little boat, however there were a few different minor flaws that gave it a 4 star overall. First of all, the self righting function is kind iffy. The first time i took it out, i managed to hit a patch of brush in the pond and sent it airborne and it landed completely upside down. Needless to say the self righting feature didn't work because the hollow sponson couldn't fill with water. However, after a few more runs and flips i've noticed that under normal conditions it will self right with some help. You have to wait a few seconds for the hollow sponson to fill, then turn your prop towards the water, gun the throttle, and rock the boat. Also, the water out tube was not glued in place, but merely snugged in. A little bit of superglue solved that problem too. Overall its a really good and fast tunnel hull for a ARR model.

I tried mt first run of this boat in the last weekend. It is fast and nice steering. Not only design itself but overall quality of hull, motor and ESC is nice. But, self-righting does not work. I almost lost my boat but finally it is rescued by rescue boat. I think HK should think about balance one more time. Universal coupling is very weak. It is broken because it can't hold torque of motor of the boat and the worst thing is I can not find ant spare part for the boat. If you want to buy this one, please wait until HK release spare parts of the boat.

This is my first boat that i have owned.
It came really well packaged and the finish was great. I am really impressed!
I gave it a run and it was really great on the water, quite fast and very stable.
There were a few issues with it:
1. The side that the pontoon fills up to self right the boat isnt heavy enough so i added some weight and it works every time now.
2. The plastic props seem too dull quite quickly and it makes it cavitate quite majorly until it is changed... i have orded a metal one so i will see how that goes!
3. My servo stripped after about 8 runs but that may have been from rough handling getting it to and from the lake.

Apart from that it is really impressive and I love it!!
I will probably try to upgrade it to make it faster :P
