The striking H-King Yak-11 is an impressive 1450mm wingspan scale RC plane that has impeccable handling characteristics and looks stunning in the air. It is available in two color schemes, an authentic commemorative Russian WW2 scheme, and a colorful, racy-looking fantasy air races scheme. The differences do not stop there though, both have different power trains, one for torque, and one for speed.

This version of the Yak-11 is the Red Reno Racer, this is not a totally scale color scheme, but is loosely based on the Strega P-51 Reno Mustang. As mentioned above, being the racer version it is supplied with a power train that has been developed for pure speed. Using a 6S LiPo pack, the 5052-550KV brushless motor with the supplied 95A ESC and 16x6 prop will give the Yak-11 an incredible turn of speed in excess of100mph. It is quick, and seeing a model of this impressive size doing fast pylon turns near to the ground is a sight to behold. Aerobatics are also a dream to perform with the Yak, the rolls are very axial, and looping maneuvers are big due to the abundance of power. The only limitations to the aerobatics it will perform are your flying skills.

The H-King Yak-11 has a lot of outstanding features including CNC machined fully functioning oleo struts with gear doors, LED landing lights, and navigational lights (a full list of features are below). Both versions come "Plug N Fly" with motor, ESC, and high power metal-geared servos factory installed. Construction of the Yak-11 is the popular strong and tough EPO foam, and it has scale working split flaps, and a servoless retract system.

The Red Racer version, however, comes with a set of water slide decals that need to be applied to the model, this is so that you can apply your own race number(s), etc. It also means that you can use other brands of "Sponsor" sticker sets to make your Yak truly unique.

All that is required to get your Yak-11 Red Reno Racer flying is a 6ch radio system, some foam glue, and a 6S 5000~6000mAh 50C+ LiPo battery with an XT90 connector.

Features:
• PNF with servoless retracts
• CNC machined fully functional all-metal oleo struts with gear doors
• LED Landing and navigational lighting system
• Quick connect wing servo connectors
• Powerful and reliable H-King power system gives speeds in excess of 100mph
• Landing gear configured for grass runways
• Colorful Red fantasy "Racer" color scheme with water slide sponsor sheet

5 sterne

Einfach zu fliegen. Mit der 16x6 Latte nicht so schnell wie angegeben. Landen kann man angenehm langsam. Steht im Gras gern auf dem Kopf. Nehme ich gern mit, zum Spassfliegen.

This is an awesome model. It flies very true and looks great in the air. It can fly very fast if you want to. Fun to land just be careful of nose tips overs. Pull elevator up after touchdown to plant the tail wheel for steering control. I love this plane.

Wing bolts did not line up with factory installed blind nuts in fuselage. I glued wing to fuse to make 1 piece.

A good Russian

The model is well packaged and goes together easy. Unfortunately mine blew an ESC on its maiden and the subsequent landing caused some minor damage.HK came to the party with the ESC eventually but nothing else. Parts delays for many products makes keeping some models in the air almost impossible but this is a global freight issue not unique to HK. The Reno version flies on rails and oh that sound from the prop revirbirating through the cowl is insane. It still has some of the genes that make it pitch over on take off and landing despite the resetting of the legs but overall I do love this model and am glad it is in my fleet. 7/10

Great Warbird

Jan 28, 2022

I love this plane! Took a couple flights to get to know its flight characteristics. Take off - slowly bring up the throttle to about 75%, hold full up elevator to pin the tail for feed in a bit of R rudder then slowly ease off the elevator and the tail will rise and it will slowly lift off. Landing with about 20% power holding a bit of up elevator and as soon as it touches down go full down elevator to pin the tail to prevent nose over and for steering. I have a constant head wind around 5 MPH at this field so I find it better to not use flaps. So much fun!!! I use 5000 & 6000 mAh batteries all the way forward for a great CG.

Nice Flying Plane

Jan 28, 2022

Delivery was fine, the build had its issues. The wing bolts screw into blind nuts, and of course, they use metric threads. One of the bolts would not thread, so I had to replace it with a 3" #6 bolt and blind nut. I recommend replacing all of the wing bolts with #6 bolts and blind nuts. The spinner looks pretty, but is not built very well. I will replace it with a white aluminum backed spinner that I don't need to squeeze to the proper shape to fit. Other than that, the build is easy and quick. Beware the landing gear are lightly glued in. This plane flies great and sounds great, but you need to bring it in under power to land it. I tried gliding it in and the nose dropped immediately. After a couple of dolphin maneuvers, I bounced the landing and one of the landing gears popped out. So now I and replacing the broken prop and gluing the landing gear in properly. I will be more careful on then next flight.

Awesome flyer, incredible power

Dec 19, 2021

I’m flying at 5,500ft so I upgraded to a 16x8 master air screw which pulls 87amps peak on the ground. This is the best sounding prop plane I own. Bringing it by for low passes WOT is quite rewarding. Very stable once airborne and fast. It will accelerate straight up until you pull back. I would say the book CG is ok once in the air but feels a little tail heavy on takeoff.
Don’t waste too much time getting up to speed on takeoff, it doesn’t really torque roll like some other 6s warbirds. Landings need to be accurate and soft on the mains otherwise expect a large bounce (at least on pavement). Very effective rudder allows you to keep it straight after landing.

Cool model

Dec 16, 2021

Today's first flight with my Racer Yak, I'm happy.
The plane is not cheap, but it is worth the money.
Very good quality of the plane, great optics, flight image and sound.
Lighting also quite bright during the day.
Battery should be at least 6S 5000, otherwise additional weight must be in the nose.
Aluminum legs also turn out to be suitable for lawns - I was skeptical at first.
I am completely satisfied with the purchase of the model, I can only recommend it.
