Soar through the skies with the H-King Raven. The newly added battery eliminator circuit (BEC) means your plane has a faster setup than the previous version. Complete the build in under 30 minutes, plug in the battery, and fly away! This stylish plug-and-fly (PNF) model has a 1500mm wingspan and weighs 290 grams. Fitted with pre-installed servos, you can easily control the elevator and ailerons with the help of your favorite radio.

The Raven 1500 is a high-performance discus launcher that's perfect for flying at the beach or the park. Fitted with lightweight wings that are reinforced with carbon rods. Difficult to build

Jan 11, 2021

Pulg and play ? Easy to build ? None. Difficult to build, I had to solve several issues to get the plane finished, included some mods. The recommended battery is too light, better to use a heavier one (more capacity consequently). Very poor instructions, without information of CG.

Generally very happy

Dec 07, 2020

Admittedly this is my first DLG, but I was very impressed with the price/quality. None of my foamies fly anything like the Raven. Wow!
I had one serious issue: the supplied micro BEC wasn't capable of delivering enough power for the servos, on a 2s LiPo. This caused the receiver to shutdown and reset mid-maiden. Ouch!! Broken boom and split wing halves. Fortunately the damage surprisingly easy to repair. Also swapped the original BEC with a 3A. No more issues. I should've checked this more carefully before putting her in the air!
Haste makes waste; and never assume!!

Excellent DLG Kit

Aug 17, 2020

I saw that this is V2 Raven 1500, couse 1st one did not include BEC. Canopy is different, previous was just taped on fuselage. This one has rod installed, so you just slide it to get it of. It's better! Overall there is no single problem with this version. Well it came in very thick and stiff cardboard box. It was well packet and taped, so it couldn't move. Covering on wing is very good, on horizontal and vertical stabilazer was a bit lose. But nothing that could affect on flying. A few passes with iron solves wrinkles. Carbon boom is well made. Slot for rudder is perfectly cutted, you don't need to do mods. Horizontal stab holder is just made from soft balsa, so I reinforced it with 25g per square meter glass fiber cloth and 30 min epoxy resin. Fuselage is well made too. It's very strong glass fiber. Finish on fuse it's like on real glider! Servos are OK.
You can throw it together in an 1 hour, but why would you do that if you can assemble it slow and precise. It is not so easy to assemble. I need 3 evenings to put it together.
Best it's yet to come... the maiden!

Actually a very capable glider

Jul 13, 2020

So, the Raven 1500 is not a fully moulded ship. She's not the lightest. She needs a bit of experience to get the build spot on. But if you know what you are doing, she is perfectly capable. I have flown her on the flat field as a DLG and the dead air time is not particularly impressive however where I have enjoyed her the most is on the slope. You can fly her in a very light breeze before the wind picks up enough for your expensive carbon ships, she is great for feeling the air out and is tough enough to withstand the inevitable knocks and bumps from landing on the backside.

Great budget DLG but takes longer to complete than a day

Apr 20, 2019

Loving it and flies great but takes longer to complete than a day! Control surfaces don't move as freely as they should. The ailerons are restricted by the hinges, they move freely in one direction (down) but not in the other (up). The ruder and elevator are restricted by the torsion springs. both these problems could be improved on.

Raven 1500 Review

Apr 15, 2019

Hardware used:
Battery: 250mAh 2A
Rx: FrSky G-RX6
UBEC: Supplied micro bec was working ok with Frsky D4R-II but with FrSky G-RX6 I got extreme interference so I used a "TURNIGY 3A UBEC w/ Noise Reduction"
Setup:
Weight: Around 290g
CG around 65mm from the leading edge (I guess there's no need to tune this)
Ailerons: 10mm down 5mm up
Elevator: 15mm down 10mm up (15mm down fells too much but this is just the first flight)
Rudder: 15mm left/right (I absolutely need to increase this throws)
I feel worried regarding the cable wires for elevator an rudder. They seem weak and rub on the carbon fiber boom so they may wear easily.
