The Hawker Harrier was for many years, the worlds only VTOL jet fighter/strike aircraft and was designed to operate from make shift airstrips that were not vulnerable from air attack. The Sea Harrier variant found world fame during the Falklands conflict where it silenced critics with its impressive combat performance. Recently retired after 40+ years of service, now is your chance to fly this military aviation legend.

This is a large model that looks so very impressive in the air, it comes with optional fixed under-carriage but is so easy to hand launch due to its light weight and light wing loading, it can be flown almost anywhere.

This Sea Harrier flys so very well and is very easy to live with, we are talking from experience having had many, many flights with this one, an unusual subject and an impressive size that will turn heads at any flying field.

Buy one of these if you love to build. This is a builders dream. I have cut out and made my exhaust shoot straight out. Added a retracts nose gear and a glider retract in the rear. Tons of room. Still working on the model and will post photos of it when I'm done. I don't expect to go fast with this plane. But just nice speeds with a cool look. No VTOL at all. I'll wait until someone comes up with that fly able plane. If you are in the USA! I got mine in 12 days!!!! Get one. You won't be disappointed unless you just want to plug and fly.

I received the model with some damage to leading edge of the wing which required some filling and there were a few minor dings and dents on the top of the fuselage. The model is not EPO foam so dents easily. I installed a Dr Mad 70mm fan and turnigy 60amp ESC. With a Turnigy Nano 2200mah (35C) installed in nose compartment as far back as it will go, the model balances within CofG limits. I have been flying the jet off grass with the wheels on and it does takes a fair bit of runway to get airborne. Due to the location of the exhaust outlets (slightly angled), it does take lots of power to keep it flying which results in short flights of 2.5 min on my current pack. I also had to add a small hole in the bottom of the fuselage, just forward of the nose gear to get some cooling air into the batter compartment and a small stringer in the horizontal tail wings as they were very flimsy. Once you get it in the air it is relatively stable for an aircraft with an anhedral wing. Although it is not a very fast flyer, it definitely does have the cool factor when you bring it to the flying field. For the price it is worth it to add one to your RC fleet.

This aircraft flies really well on the HK reccomended motor and battery combo, however, needs a few mods.
The hinges on the ailerons and elevators are terrible, I wouldn't trust them to hold up to even 1 flight. I replaced mine with proper pinned hinges. The elevator pushrods were kinked inside and also needed replacing. I also relocated the LiPo to the centre compartment and used 2x 2S wired in series either side of the fan unit to help get the CG in limits.
It flies well with no nasty surprises despite the swept anhedral wing and slows down nicely for landing without tip stalling
