The Hawker Hunter was the UK's first swept wing fighter and was a huge success being operated by many airforces accross the world. Designed by the brilliant Sir Sydney Camm, the Hunter was certainly one of the best looking jets of it's age and went on to break several records including the world speed record in 1953, another amazing record was set when 22 Hunters were looped in formation! The Hunter was still being used as a trainer right into the 1990's and has gone down in History as one of the most successful and best looking cold war era fighters.

This very scale and superbly finished model is Plug N Fly and features quality servo's, ESC & servoless all-metal servoless retracts with sprung leg's all pre-fitted. The 10 blade DPS alloy fan unit is ultra high quality, very powerful, ultra smooth, reliable and efficient, on the reccomended Lipoly this unit produces around 2450g of thrust. An OPTO ESC is also pre-fitted with a 5A UBEC to supply RX power. Although not difficult to build, the Hunter is a little more involved than some PNF models. The design is clever, with each section being completed as a "module".

The silky smooth sound of the pre-installed Fan Unit on 6s has to be heard to be believed. This model flies like it is on rails, and combines speed with stability and elegance it is also a breeze to land thanks to the pre-installed split flaps. This Hunter combines quality & performance with head turning good looks and is sure to make you stand out at the flying field.

Beautiful model. Poor packaging.

May 22, 2017

This is a very good looking model with lots of nice scale detail and a quality feel to it. Unfortunately it comes very poorly packaged with means it'd be extreme luck if it's not damaged on delivery. Especially if the package is stood up on it's ends.

The battery compartment is the biggest weaknes. It's not very big and fitting a battery that's heavy enough to get the CG far enough forward required removing parts of the cockpit. I used a Zippy Compact 35C 6S 2700 mAh.

The model flies very nicely, though the main landing gear failed right after takeoff on the maiden flight. One got stuck extended, the other retracted. With only a working nose wheel I could choose landing on either one or 2 wheels. I chose 2 wheels and landed in the grass with little issue. Still haven't figured out why the main gear stopped working.

Received my one it came packaged well and thats about it. The wingtips are damaged, vertical stabilizer is broken, thrust pipe at back off fuselage damaged and one off the retract servos does not work. I bought it from international warehouse but have sent it to the Australia warehouse for inspection. This was an expensive model and if Hobby King dont look after me ill never buy anything from them again. Ive spent over $ 1400 with them over the years,
