Great little motor

Feb 17, 2017

I bought one of these to put on my Twisted Hobby Gym-Star it came out at 200grams (7oz) AUW with batt on the nose! this motor on 2s with a 8x4.5 gem fan prop provides a lot of power on this airframe more than enough for all 3d. Ordered another for my second Gym-Star

Used this motor on my overweight Matrix after using to much glue in my build. Stock motor would not hold a hover. Couldn't be happier with the performance of this new little motor. Now my Matrix can hover all battery long.
Thanks HobbyKing.
Now just for some windless days.

Very impressed. I bought this about a year ago and installed it in a competitors 48" Super Cub and even though I was not sure if it would have the guts to get in the air, it sure did! I know this is not what this motor is for, but figured if it could hover a 32 profile it should putt putt a Cub around while being very lightweight and cheap. With an 8x4 prop on only 2s also! I have not yet tried 3s (because I don't have one small enough to fit). Motor stayed cool and even pulling around that big(for the motor) Super Cub for 7 minutes on almost full throttle in gusty wind before my 2s 950mah was down to 3.6v per cell. Motor came packaged adequately. Cub has heavy oversize rubber tires, cheap gyro from a competitor, spektrum 4ch rx, 10 amp plush esc, 4 5g servos, steerable tailwheel and this motor to fly... Which is smaller than the tires!

Excellent motor, i'm using it on my Topmodel Kosmos with a weight of 190gr and it runs perfectly, i'm using it with an 8x4.5 with a 2s lipo, it use about 100mah x minute.
It is very well made as i can run it up to 9,8 Amps without getting it warmer then a normal fly and without damaging it :) ( i have limited the throttle to 50pcnt, as at 100pcnt it reach 12 A with the 8x4.5 )

works great. motor itself is balanced well. However, mine makes a strange kind of flapping noise at low throttle, like the sound youd expect from a leaf or twig caught on something. but it runs fine. ill clean it soon. it only made the noise after i took it apart for cleaning, maybe i got something in it. but otherwise, great little motor, runs cool on 3s with 8x4. Im thinking of balancing my prop much more precisely and then running it on 4s. If it doesnt over-heat, ill use it that way. but so far it is very hearty and strong. reccommend. i use it on an HK Reactor. well done HK

I have bought two of these so far, and am very satisfied. I installed one on a 32 inch Extra Slick and it has plenty of power using a 2S battery, but with a 3S it is a lot more fun. The only issue I had was that the supplied o-rings are not very strong. They are usable, but I had to use two to hold the prop on securely.
