Poor quality, unbalanced, unusable.

The bell on these looks to be bent when I spin it up it looks very wobbly. Using a small felt pin I can see that it is out of round by holding the pen up to the motor while spinning it only marked one side of the bell. I tried to straighten the bell but couldn't get it close enough to be useable. it had such bad vibration it couldn't spin up the prop enough to fly unfortunately. Will try to return. If it had been balanced it looks like it is of good quality other than that.

these get a lot of bad reviews, but they are still very cheap, and i very good upgrade for a 7mm brushed motor, with the ESC and BL motor they weigh the same or a little less, but get 50pcnt more thrust than the 7mm brushed.

I put this motor in a parkzone cessna with 3amp esc 415 orange receiver and 2 5320 hobbyking 1.7 gram digital servos. The planes flies fast like a micro pylon racer excellent motor using 100mah 1 cell zippy lipo and rookie prop. A motor thanks hobbyking.

Must be the lightest outrunner. Watch out that You don't loose it. It's so tiny. Wires are thin and You have to have some soldering skills and patience to get this connected.

Building little planes is fun but expensive. Also time consuming - I haven't put this motor to use yet.

I bought 4 of these to quad and they were all unbalanced and the bell on all was slightly wobbly but could be pushed inward center slightly. After i pushed them back as good as i could the vibrations became a lot better but still easily noticeable. And just to clarify: the bells were only very slightly wobbly by only say 0.2 - 0.3 mm so not much at all but at the rpm these could got up to and their low weight it will create quite severe vibrations even at low rpm.

The glue portioning in the bell for the magnets was not perfect and is also a part of the vibrations and should have been portioned by spin technique and an motor so would it be perfect. The magnets were not side to side with no space between since there were small gaps between 2 or 3 of all magnets which are because the bells inner diameter are slightly to big for the magnets and this would also create vibrations.

Part from this they worked like a charm with a 0.7gram 3A ESC controller and a 2.5 x 1 prop, they spun up fast to high rpm without a hiccup but they are not really that efficient as you might believe because they get hot quite easy.

For the price i could recommend them but be aware that they might not be balanced and with a slightly non balanced prop like one i first used they cant be used at all and even with a balanced one they could vibrate a lot.

i got two of these. they work great and put out 18.3 grams of thrust as a tractor using the supermicro systems 0.3 gram ESC. if you pull off the bell, the thrust drops to 17 grams.
these have bushings, so will need some oil. i used singer sewing machine oil to get max thrust.

This engine is wonderful, but a few precautions need to be taken for reliable operation. The first is the voltage regulator. The recommended ESC can drive 3A through the engine, as the engine can only safely take 1,5A , the risk of melting the wires is very high. A possible workaround is to program the sender so that with full open throttle the power is limited to 50pcnt-60pcnt. The second is the thrust, the engine has troubles driving a 3'x2', it is better to limit the diameter to a 2,5' rather. This will also help avoiding to crash trough the 1,5A barrier. In any case the static trust delivered ranges from 14g to 18g depending on the choosen propeller.

Good little motor! But the 2 that I have get VERRY hot under use! Thats with a 1 cell lipo and a 4x2.5 prop which might be a tad big for it. doesnt seem to make much thrust tho. will have to see how it goes...
