Great little motor

Jun 28, 2021

With the discontinuation of the C1822 motor, I needed to find something to power my smaller 2S kits. I picked up a few of these to test and they have been awesome and will be my new replacement motor for my lineup. Awesome little powerhouse!

Thrust test

Jun 02, 2021

I did a few tests with home made thrust scale, HK 010 power analyzer and 12A SimonK esc and prop saver with stronger band for 5030 and 6030 Gf 5030 Gf 6030 Folding Propeller 5.1x3.1 (2,75€) 2 pieces
2s 130g 22,8w 3A 2s 160g 31w 4,1A 163g 30w 4A
3s 245g 57w 5,1A 3s 300g 60w 5,5A 300g 73w 6,7A
I flew it on 48cm rc converted chuck glider (140g) on 2s and it`s lacking power for acrobatics.
I`ll try it on 3s when I get smaller batteries.

A Good motor

Dec 24, 2019

Good motors .. I have *many* of this model. I refuse to buy more Red and Blue versions .. as a few have had their Magnets Crumble. Much lesser quality, despite new and improved claims

Nice little motor

Nov 05, 2019

Nice little motor as others mention the wires from the motor are fragile i will take a small piece of wire to hold the thin wires from the motor in place another small issue are the tiny lockscrews you can use the tools from Align 150 dfc helikopter i do

Includes no mounting screws. The holes are four smooth bore (i.e. not threaded) 2mm holes on a 16mm diameter circle (i.e. 16mm between pairs of opposite holes).

I own 5 of them. On 2S they let my 8-10 oz planes fly well. On 3S they will accelerate straight up.

This motor uses teensy tiny (about 1mm) grub screws to hold the motor in its mount. Some other motors I purchased from HK had the correct Allen key supplied with the motor so that you can tighten and loosen as required. I thought I had it covered with my own set of tools, but my key was a little loose and I managed to lose both grub screws after not really tightening them up enough, rendering the motor useless to me unless I can get some new grub screws, but they're gonna be rarer than hens teeth. Easier to just buy another motor (different one). Bit disappointed but the motor is still great value. Another weakness as on all these small motors is how easy it is to stress damage a motor lead from moving the motor around a bit. Be careful with them and good luck :)
