The HKPilot Mega master set is a complete open source autopilot and flight controller system featuring matched hardware, cables and cases for a refined plug-and-play UAV control system.

The HKPilot is based on the rapidly evolving and refined Ardupilot mega or “APM”, an open source project from 3DR robotics. This amazing flight controller allows the user to turn any fixed wing, rotary wing, or multi-rotor vehicle (even boats and cars) into a fully autonomous vehicle, capable of performing a wide range of tasks even programmed autonomous missions with waypoints, with the included high precision LEA-6 Ublox GPS.

Various user interfaces are available for programing, reviewing logs, setup and even some Apps for smart phones and tablets. The included telemetry radio, OSD, power sensor and GPS allow for full two way radio communication, giving you full control and provides live data back to your computer or tablet. The list of what this flight controller is capable of has quickly surpassed what it cannot. Feature rich settings, flight modes and supported platforms have made this the go-to UAV controller.

Nice flight controller and there is a lot of information about it in the net. I configured the APM with Mission Planner and placed it in a Talon tricopter. I don't use telemetry but I do get video streaming and OSD data with a Mobius cam and gimbal. In files tab I uploaded a picture with the wiring diagram I used. Hope this help!!! Happy flying!!!

It's an apm 2.7 that wont hold a bootloader after a week i have to reload it and it dumps all my settings. I have found cheaper APM's on an auction site that works fine.

I do like the APM the only thing that is a problem is the GPS. Good GPS bad connector. I flew a few times no hard crashes. Did come down a bit hard one time and broke a leg on my landing gear. So the connector, was flying and battery was low. So landed and swapped the battery.Took off was doing some testing off the different modes and lost GPS. The Quad took off like a bat out of hell. Was able to get it back into Stable mode and land before a crash. Took apart the GPS case and the connector has come off the unit. So if you get one of these best before use. Take apart the GPS housing and use a bit of hot glue or something to keep the unit still inside. As it can move a little. I think this little bit of movement broke the connector off.

This is an excellent package. Just set it up on one of my quad on wow. I am blown away. Alt hold = great, loiter mode = Amazing. I even tried RTL and let the copter land it self and it did very well. I did about 6 RTL where it would land roughly between 30-100cm away from where it took off. I can not complain. I will however advise you to read through the documentation available from the apm website. Also be sure to select 180 rotation on the compass if you use the external one! Thanks HK !! Thanks APM !! Will buy another for my hex sometime down the line!
