Print incredible structures and 3D projects with HobbyKing's own range of PLA filament. If you're new to using PLA, you'll find it easier to print thanks to having a lower melting point.

One of the most important features is that PLA is non-toxic with an extremely high printing resolution. . PLA has a low shrinkage rate and is very rigid with minimal flex. While PLA is considered stronger than ABS it is more susceptible to cracking when subjected to flexing, therefore you will need to consider if the filament is right for the mechanical needs of the print project.

A great material for 3D printing, PLA can be printed without the use of a heat bead and can stick to glass or a PCB plate using a binder such as hairspray or white glue.  These simple binding agents will help achieve a curl free print.

3D printing is a fun and exciting hobby with a wide range of uses from prototyping parts to making toys for the kids. Picking the right filament for your application is very important. HobbyKing filaments have a stable melting point, good round shape and most importantly a 0.05mm uniform diameter tolerance for a consistent flow rate.

Features:
• Stable melting point
• Good round shape
• Uniform diameter tolerance 0.05mm
• Consistent colors

After printing some more... things only got worse

Mar 30, 2019

The filament is very tenacious. Printing it hotter is not ideal for print quality. But by dropping the temp a bit, you get occasional extruder skipping (which has never happened on my CR10 before with other filament). The color isn't constant. So you get the impression your layers are inconsistent (especially since you can see through it and see beyond the outer wall), while the surface is indeed normal. On my other printer, i tried printing on clean glass, and on glass+ hairspray. I got 7 failed prints because this *** won't stick. Finally seems to be sticking on my CR10 which has a PEI sheet.
There is a reason why Hobbyking isn't showing the true color of the filament. It's because it's ugly. Transparent (somewhat reflective) bright green. Not Glow In The Dark, for those wondering (due to the wrong color in the image provided by Hobbyking).
I would probably only buy this again at €5 per kilo. Contemplating of sending the second roll (unopened) back to Hobbyking for a refund.

Never again

Mar 23, 2019

First two prints, failed, because this "premium" filament, doesn't stick to a clean glass like the "cheap" hobbyking filament has always done without issue. This is transparent bright green. I bought 2 spools at a discount (€11,11) of this and regret it already.
