Great frame for the money. However, the instruction manual is horrible, you basically have to do it like a jigsaw puzzle and follow the picture on the box. It wasn't too hard though, and it works great for people on a budget.

I just build my first quadcopter with this frame. I bought 2 of them (1 additional for spare parts) because I wanted something cheap and durable to get started right away.

Assembly: There is a manual coming with it, but the pictures and instructions are not quite precise. During motor installation I found that one arm was pre-mounted in the wrong orientation. At the end I had to loose screws and dismount parts 2 to 3 times until everything fitted. Anyway - if you build your second quadcopter you will be even faster as you know where to look at and what to check before assembly.

Parts: No problems except the arm. All I needed was contained in the kit (or even more).

Durability: First flight, and the bolts of the battery holder broke. This kit definitely needs a landing gear as the battery holder and its parts are not build to act as a landing gear. Anyway - the frame itself did not broke.

Summary: I think this frame is a good choice for beginners and all people searching for a stable frame. But check how you can add a landing gear by yourself.

I have mixed feelings about this frame. First, I bought it (actually 2 of them, 1 for spare parts) because the Q450 was out of stock at the time, and I wanted something relatively cheap to get started right away.

Assembly: The instructions are pretty lame. At least twice during the execution of the instructions I had to back-track because the order of the steps weren't the most efficient. There were some steps that were overly vague, or misleading when it comes to recommended screw sizes. If someone asked for it, I'd probably take the time to write it out. Also, the parts don't fit together perfectly, and I imagine it would be hard for them to do that. The arms press-fit into the center plates, and some sanding or scraping was needed to get them to fit well.

Parts: Two problems. First, while there are a lot of spares, there were a few missing parts. And the spares that they did have seemed out of balance. Second, in BOTH kits there was one arm that had the motor mount plate reversed, so that if you mounted a motor on it the wires would come out the sides. I had to take apart the whole arm, which was pretty difficult (involved banging it on a table a lot), to reverse the plate. I did it to the other kit as well. Otherwise I'm glad that the arms came pre-assembled.

Durability: I added some pipe insulation foam as landing gear and to protect the battery. It actually works well and seems pretty tough. I don't think it would do too well if there was no landing gear though

It looks a bit frail and delicate, but is in fact very robust and has survived a few 'events' and emerged unscathed! Good finish, good looks and good performance. Recommended!
