Watch out for moulding defects. Rudder / vertical fin doesn't always line up correctly with the fuselage and is spaced too far back

Received this plane in excellent condition. I was quite worried with the way the parcels are handled at the postal department, but to my surprise and joy, I receiver it intact.
The packing along with other items I had ordered was excellent.
Even the Bird is a beauty and absolute value for money. Shall look forward to more such birds in the same price range.
Thanks Hobbyking.

might want a more powerful servo for the aileron control and that servor should be mounted on the bottom of the wing in case it fails as mine did so you dont have to cut the wing off. i suppose i could leave it un glued

this plane though is indestructible as advertised, survived a beating, not a scale bir as you can tell

Uune bonne petite mousse, *quip*e d'un HK2818 et une 8040 GWS accus 1000mAh 3S, vous aurez un avion sain sans puissance excessive. Les valeurs de CG et d*battements sont bonnes.

This should be great for a bit of combat but there a re a couple of small issues.
First the aileron linkage, as designed it's stupid. i've used a standard horn, cut away a little foam and put the horns just 10-15mm or so out from the aileron inner edge, roll is more than good enough.
second is the flexi tail, it'd rather flex like a fish than move the elevator. i've sliced the hinge line a little to offer less resistance but i'll put a CF rod or two down the fuz soon.

then on to flying, the motor mount has no down or side thrust, hence it flies like a half dead fish.
i used a snapped servo arm end to put about 3mm on the top left mount point which has more or less fixed this.
At the moment i've got a 2822 1450kv motor and 800 3 cell, it's a little underpowered to be super agile and towing a streamer, the 2826 1400kv i also got might be a better match but torque roll is aready an issue.

in short, good little plane, needs adjusting to get the best from it, don't expect miracles

It's a great little model but the aileron linkage geometry was just stupid, and it stalled a digital servo. This was cured by using two servos (one for each aileron.
I used a motor which (actually) produces 200 Watts on a 3s, 1300Mah Lipo and 7x6 prop. This is adequate for some good vertical performance.
It has very stable flight characteristics, and the rudder is powerful enough for knife-edge loops.

I bought the HK version of this Techone ME109 a couple of weeks age. There is a lively thread about these on RCGroups under Foamy Combat. I installed a T-motor AS2208 8x6 SF and 20 amp BEC and 3S1.3 Nanotech Bats. I stiffened the wing with 2 pieces of .125 CF Tube 2 pieces because of the dihedral of the wing prevented me from using one long piece, Wish I had. I have at least 15 flights on the plane and it is a blast to fly... BUT today I flew into a bad radio interference area of our field in Mission Bay Park and all of a sudden it was out of control and a wing blew off in mid-air.

The wing had only a holed out piece of flight ply holding the two half's together and one side of the wood spar had no glue!

I thought I could put all the pieces back together but too much damage was done in the motor mount area.. it just be glue holding together more glue... Sad because this is a really cool plane to fly ... low and slow I can still hear the machine guns roaring.

Don't waste your money buying this plane. The setup instructions and flying setup are terrible! This plane is not physically flyable with the setup they recommend. When giving up elevator, the tail of the airplane flexes to the right effectively giving right rudder! The tail is not stiff enough. The ailerons are too large and cause the airplane to stall & nose in. With those large ailerons, you barely need any throw!. I would not put the aileron servo in the center of the plane but would use two ailerons, one in each wing. The center position causes the push rod angles to be extreme and puts a lot of stress on the servo. also, the ailerons are very stiff and don't move very easily. The push rods provided are also too thin because they flex under loads. That caused the last crash of this airplane when I flew in moderate to high winds. The nose needs beefed up a little because it too flexes. I have crashed this plane more than I have flown and no I am not a beginner. I have flow for many years and have lots of gas/glow large airplanes. The advertisement says this plane is almost indestructible ... however, the fuselage split in half with my first nose in due to the aileron stall / snap roll into the ground! It is tough but still breaks just like all the rest. This was my first EPP airplane and I won't buy another.

Flew it the first time yesterday. I'm impress. I was not thinking it would go so well.
I commented my experience on : http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1954577#post29302308

the setup propoe by hobbyking (biggest speed controller and motor proposed) is OK but I would recommend to use a 1300 maH battery and at least a 8x6 prop. On 8x4 it's just OK for park flying without any accro.

anyway, I love it
