Small and compact RC plane. It doesn't like windy weather. Cant fly after 2 m/sec and more.
Specs - Tyrnigy - D2822/17 Brushless Outrunner 1100kv.
OrangeRx R400 Spektrum RX. Orange T6 DSM2 TX. Prop 7x5 on 2S Rhino 610 mah battery.
Removed on servo to make it lighter. Battery should be small. Max is Rhino 3S 610 mah battery or less. Don't forget to reinforce wings and canopy with clear sticky tape.

Good looking little model. Pretty solid with a clean style.

In it I'm running.

Turnigy 2211 1700kv brushless motor.
500mah 2s 20C turnigy battery (JUST fits)
7x6e prop.

is a little sluggish on takeoff, but the motor and esc i'm running are prob a little heavier than they need to be. so no crowns taken off for that.

Took a long time to set up for beginner style flying. This is my travel pcnt.

Ailerons 55pcnt
Rudder 70pcnt
Elevator 80pcnt pitch up 90pcnt pitch down

(as i said, i set it up for beginner style flying - as this plane is so well known to be good for - if a beginner was to buy this and set up alone, they would be very lucky to have it fly at their level without a lot of involvement from an experienced rc pilot). - this is why i have given 4 crowns.

It impresses me, for such a small plane, flies very scale, and even does ok in light wind.

once flying smoothly, is perfect for teaching a friend.

I will always have one of these in my inventory. - Thankyou HK for another great model.

A few more words on this plane:
I removed the landing gear, struts and lights. I glued a 2mm carbon fiber tube in the channel under the wing where the light wires were.

It's much lighter, has less drag, and now flies quite well. Without gear, it needs to be landed on grass. Even with gear, this was a hand-launch plane.

After reading the reviews of the PNF version of this kit which comes with a 16g motor, I ordered this version and a larger motor (HD2613-1900KV). With a longer shaft, a collet-type propeller adapter and the supplied prop, this modified power system has just over 1:1 thrust to weight - a nice combination. The extra weight on the nose helps correct the tailheavy design.

Flight characteristics from 1/3 to full throttle are very good. However, at low speeds and/or high angles of attack, it stalls easily and severely.

Unless there's a paved runway, hand launch is needed due to the small wheels.

This is not a trainer or novice plane; its wing loading is relatively heavy and stall characteristics are a bit abrupt.

Wow, really impressed with this one.
Went together really easily, had to adjust the battery box to fit the batteries I already have. Just waiting for the right weather to get it up in the air. Well done Hobbyking

I am a new flyer and I have found this plane to be a challenge. It was very tail heavy as others have said. I had to velcro the battery under the plane and as far forward as possible. Recommended motor is minimal/under powered. Ailerons will roll the plane in an instant, so you do need to limit their throw or watch it.

Flew it yesterday, i have to say it is an amazing plane. But you have to use the turnigy 2730 1700kv motor if you want to fly good! I also used a 12A ESC and 3 HXT 900(awesome servos!).It handled pretty good with 18 mph winds! And also had 2 bad landing but still no scratch EPO is pretty strong as well. I recommend it even to a begginer as long as you buy a bigger motor. - Thanks hk!

What an awesome little plane! I put in (3) 7g Dynam servos, a big 20amp esc, a separate UBEC, 48LEDS, a 3s 25c 450mah battery, 17g Blue Monster outrunner spinning an APC 6X5.5 prop. Needless to say the plane is a lil over weight but man does it fly nice!! Super fast if I want or slows way down to a crawl for landing. It does loops and rolls easily and it is a strong little air frame! I have abused it a couple time too but it just bounces back and keeps going! My only complaint is that there are no recommendations for control throws. You need very little elevator and rudder throw. But ailerons can be pretty aggressive! Great little plane and one that I fly almost every time that I am out!

Bought two, one yellow and one blue. With the recommended engine and Rhino 7.4V 610mAh. 3x HXT500 and a weight of 240g so they fly really well.
