HobbyKing Red Brick 50A ESC - (Heli Mode)

I runs very hot on my Walkera V450d01 after only 2 minutes, than it shuts down suddenly. I am afraid to fly with it cause crashes are expensive. Am I doing something wrong? Using 11.1v, 2200mah lipo batteries with stock motor. Runs smooth and nice but it just gets too hot and shuts down.

Ok I have just got another one of these, it works fine BUT again it shows a heat-sink (cooling fins) in the write up for this ESC but AGAIN the one I have received does NOT have a heat-sink on it !
So HobbyKing you are not selling what you are advertising!!! This does you no favours at all.......

i bought 4 test them all ,all worked ,for other buyer you need a 80 watt solder iron so it solder the t and gold connector fast without transfer too much heat to the ESC which will cause damage the ESC , after testing i dont think this ESC is 50a its more like 40A ESC i tested against my Titan 40a ESC my Titan 40a runs very cool with throttle all the way up for 30 second of my hausler 450 v2 helicopter strapped down on test bench this red brick runs very hot even after 10 second at full throttle i am little worry about this heat problem maybe i need to change the heat sink ?

Red Brick describes this esc perfectly, yes it's big and yes it's ugly, the components are cheap so you wont get a silk purse for the price of a pigs ear!
I went for the 50A to use on my 450, overkill you might say BUT the plus side is it hardly gets warm after a good 5 minute sports flying and less likely to overheat and fail,
I havn't found any way of programming it although having said that the preset heli one works fine with no break and soft start as default.
On the whole a bargain for the money.
