The mounting hole is not compatible with 540 motor. Very poor design. Money and time wasting. Hobby king should stop selling this motor and replace 540 compatible one.

I tried to fit this motor in my Tamiya F104 F1 and i couldn't line up the motor mount holes. Then i measured with my digital caliper and found out that the motor mounting holes distance is a little short of 24mm. All motors on the 540 class has 25mm distance between the holes. I think This is factory mistake, and maybe on all the motors. , Finally i decided to modify the motor mount on my F1 car by trimming the motor mounting holes a little closer. Then I fitted the motor. On the track with the 17t pinion gear that i was testing it the motor performed very well with more than enough torque and speed for the type of car. The esc hat i use is a 35A x-car censored that hobbyking sells and you can change the setting with the convenient HKSS programming card 150A esc uses. I used the medium initial throttle force and it performed very well limiting the acceleration and the spin offs of the car. Overall the esc and especially the motor stayed so cool that i was amazed , at the end of 20 laps it was barely warm to the touch.
