The HobbyKing EPO Jet Chuck Gliders are small models, yet are big fun. A perfect gift for the kids. Loosely modeled after full scale fighter jet models, we offer three different designs to choose from. Simple assembly, for hours of fun. As a challenge, these are a fun DIY conversion to radio control.  Each model has a molded rubber nose cone to help to protect the model when it lands. Instead of crumpled foam, the rubber nose absorbs the impact.

Fun for lazy summer days in the back yard, take them to the beach or where ever you want!

Features:
• Ultra tough EPO construction
• Simple assembly
• Molded rubber nose cone to absorb landing shock
• 3 semi-scale designs to choose from - X16, X18, X22

Specs:
 Wingspan: 295mm
 Length: 400mm
 Weight: 31g

I got one of these for my kids and we have really enjoyed tossing them around in the basement and outside. Good cheap fun! The only issue is that the nose breaks off easily when it runs into something (which it does/will). It glues back on easy enough, but a little annoying. Overall, I highly recommend it as a fun little toy or even as a scale little model to display as it could be painted/decorated easily.

Perfekt fr RC-Umrstung geeignet.

This is my RC conversion setup:
10A Speed controller (HKESC10A)
Brushless TG 3800kV motor (T1811-3800)
300mAh LiPo (9210000080)
GWS 3030 propeller (GWS-prop-DD-3030)
2X TG MX-96E digital servo (9045000010-0)
4CH micro RX from orangeRX (old model)
I cutoff the two rear fins and put them on an axe, steered by the servos and used the Deltawing mode in my Spektrum radio. I had to add a lot of DR (40pcnt) and expo, otherwise it is impossible to steer; much too sensible! It is very sensitive for crashes too. You will see that after each crash -(you'll have a lot before knowing how to tune it well!)- you will have to trimm. The EPO foam is for CHUCK gliders, so you can bend the wings and that gives other flightcaracteristics after each hard landing. I suggest buying 2 of them. One to try out and a second one to use as your final model. You just swap the electronics! Finally it flies really great! It has a good sore capability and you can land almost vertically. It goes really fast at full throttle, but be carefull: it is really a small model so you can't go too far away for visibility reasons!
A lot of fun to build and experiment and even more fun to fly. Cheers! Kris

Test glide proved it to be slightly nose heavy, however reflex to elevator up slightly and it flies really nicely, looking forward to giving it a good throw when the weather settles down.

Hi !
I converted this little F16 as a PSS slope glider using the smallest servos i had, a 4 channels Orange micro RX and a 160mAh 1S lipo.
AUW : 40 grammes
Maidened yesterday afternoon with 15 to 25 Km/h wind on the slope - EXCELLENT !!!

here the flying report, flies really good, elevator used as ailerons and elevons. no ailerons at wing needed, roll rate is fast. It flies fast enough for jet feeling and stable for outdoor at light wind conditions. Flying weight with akku and 2 servos is 75g. CG can stay like in gliding version.
In my first review I named wrong akku, I use 2S180, not 2S300, would be to heavy, flying time of 4-5 min is possible with 2S180.
