Accessories

The HobbyKing X930 octocopter frame is a high quality glass fiber frame that offers both great looks and performance. Built from light weight yet extremely rigid glass fiber and aluminum, the X930 offers a great combination of weight savings and strength.

This frame was derived from our already popular "X" series multi-rotor frames, featuring similar construction and styling but now in an octo configuration. This is a HobbyKing exclusive which means you will not find it anywhere else!

The added lift capacity of an octo configuration makes this frame ideal for carrying larger payloads such as camera systems and other electronic components. This makes for an exceptional camera rig or simply a very agile and powerful multi-rotor frame for aerobatics!

The X930 features a very nicely finished 2mm thick glass fiber main frame, 1mm thick square aluminum arms, heavy-duty extended height landing skids and rigid glass fiber motor mounts. This octocopter frame is built tough and ready to carry a serious payload!

We offer a full line of multi-rotor electronics such as multi-rotor control board, ESC, motors and more, so it has never been easier or more affordable to get a multi-rotor aircraft in the air!

All necessary hardware is included.

Cheap - But Nasty

Oct 08, 2021

I impulsed bought this one night because it was heavily reduced. I think the only good thing about it is the aluminum arms. The glass fibre cut outs dont fit together well and even with the arms on, vibrates heavily. The price I paid I'm happy with the aluminum arms (I can 3D print a new base/frame etc) but this is a bit to basic project kit.

Substitui os braços de aluminio por fibra de vidro e ficou mais leve.
Facil de montar. Bom para arrumação de fios e placas e tambem um bom suporte para as baterias.

excellent frame let down by the lack of a second deck but that said its very simple to achieve with the use of a few stand-offs and for example a glassfibre battery carrier wich is what i used but for the pricwe EXCELLENT VALUE FOR MONEY WELL THOUGHT OUT VERY LIGHT FOR ITS SIZE BUT IT REALLY IS A TRUE BUILDERS KIT AND WHILST A BEGINER COULD ASSEMLE IT TOO MUCH IS LEFT TO THE BUILDER TO WORK OUT FOR EXAMPLE MOTOR AND PROP SET UP AND THE SECOND DECK ALL IN ALL EXCELLENT IVE SEEN THEM FLOWN WITH ANYTHING FROM A 2212 MOTOR UPTO A E600 FROM DJI

Ok where to start.....
Assembly - Instruction lol there are none unless you call a picture of the parts instruction.
It is pretty much straight forward however.
The fit is horrible! plan on using some epoxy and some extra fasteners on some area's.
I read on the International site that the motor mounts are the worst part.
I will use the stock ones but have found aluminum ones on EBay for like $35 for a set of 8
The directions show the mounts on top of the arms but the video and photos here have them mounted below..... I guess its preference but I may mount my mounts on the bottom.
I'm waiting on motors I plan on using Emax XA2212 820KV w/ 10or 11'' props.... I am going to try 2 EMAX 4in1 ESC's but may switch to individual ones if the don't work well.
I'll let you know how it flys when its all together... Oh and I have a NAZA Lite Flashed w/ V2 for a Flight Controller

It's a cool frame, I'm pretty sure the only octocopter frame on hobbyking. The only problem I have with it is that the legs don't actually fit into the frame. I had to sand them down and they still barely fit in. Then on the bottom of the frame the little skid things are so lose they fall off every other time I pick the thing up. It wasn't a hard fix, some hot glue did the job as the only hard force they will be experiencing is when they get pushed INTO the frame, not out, when I land but it was rather annoying to have to sand and hot glue the thing together. Don't let this turn you off it, it's a great frame and I would buy it again, it's only just shy of brilliant!

Incredible frame for the price! I have about 10 flights now and here is what I have seen: motor mounts need reinforcing....I built my own by tracing the original mounts on aluminum plating and cut out...soo much better. The originals began vibrating and flexing. I could see cracks forming so better safe then sorry! While assembling the frame I wish I had used glue as well because skids and legs are beginning to loosen. The skids IMO need to be wider and longer....if the ground isn't perfectly level the copter can easily tilt over onto the props. I'm planning some more mods in the near future. Overall, great for what you are paying....just watch out on those motor mounts!!

This is an outstanding kit frame for the price. It's also HUGE! I'm pretty sure this won't fit in the trunk of my Audi without some dis-assembly (it's a small opening). It's slightly under 35 1/4 inches from motor center to motor center, or exactly 895mm. It's a bit difficult to assemble if you're mounting any extra carry gear (such as a camera/gimbal mount), only because 4 of the screws will require some finessing to get into place and tighten. This is something that should be addressed in a redesign. 5mm would make all the difference here. The landing gear seems a bit fragile, as do *all* low priced landing gear. I'd say there is enough clearance for a full sized DSLR, but my Nex 5t or n will fit without any issues. It might be time to get a van...
