This plane has a weak wing spar at least in some cases. Unfortunately, I had a spar fracture on a second flight. The plane folded and crashed to the ground during a simple aileron turn. I took video of the damaged plane but HK blamed me for the crash. I couldn't convince them that it is virtually impossible to snap a wing spar as a result of a crash and have zero wing damage as it was in my case. In summary, check the wing spar carefully for defects. If it fractures you may have very little recourse.

This kit is fantastic, great value for money. I have modified mine significantly to take more weight (cameras etc), so my review is relevant to doing as such (not just using it as a park flyer).
I will start with the cons then the pros.

Cons: doesn't come with enough glue so you will need glue to get some glue.
The carbon spar is weak, so I had to purchase an upgrade.
The right angle between the motor housing and tail bends a lot so I added more carbon support there.
The wing mounting design needs improving, the tabs WILL break in a rough landing if you screw them in so I used rare earth magnets to hold them in place.

Pros: very tough epo foam, I have crashed mine 3 times. 3x inverted nose dive and crashing into a tree at full throttle. It still flies fine you just repair it with some boiling watre, skewers and hot glue.
Nice gliding and stable flight.
Easy take off and landing.
Cheap.
Can fit quite a lot in for its size (apm, osd, fpv, gps, telemetry, camera).
It really is the perfect beginners plane.

Perfectly packaged and made. All of the components fit well on place and the model is easy for building. It has optional flaps that could either be used or not - depending on what do you need. It flies well and it is stable in flight. It is very suitable as a present for a friend.

i had easystar 1 before and have this now... very well made, the only thing i modded is upgrade to 8mm carbon reinforcement for main wing...

One of the best flying planes I've ever received in a Kit. It glides like no other and with the right power setup can hit 60 easily. The quality is not bad at all (just make sure you add tape to the hinges). I strongly recommend gluing in the wing and spar completely. The wing tends to snap in the air if you keep it removable, especially with larger power setups.

Don't buy the ARF or RTF... The motor that is included tends to burn up and is under powered anyways. With my current 3S setup I can get up to 40 min flight times and 70 mph (With wing flutter lol). Purchase a Hobbyking NTM motor and 30 amp esc instead.
Adding flaps helps the plane slow down IMMENSELY. However it tends to pitch up severely when you turn them on. Be sure to mix some down elevator or just be prepared to jam the stick.
I would strongly recommend this plane. Its great for beginners and is indestructible. I've landed mine upside down doing low inverted passes many many times. Its to the point where I can pick it up and throw it again without even having to check anything...it just wont die. Once upgraded the thing screams and is a joy to fly. This is a plane I will keep in my hanger forever. BUY IT.
