The bad:
Can't do 1s.
You can't see or adjust the charging current.
No discharge / storage charge function.
End voltage not adjustable, always 4.2 volts.
Gets quite hot.
Picky about voltage input, doesn't seem well protected.
Doesn't include an AC adapter.
Will kill your batteries if you leave it plugged in.
Error codes are ambiguous and confusing.

Good:
Cheap!
Simple!
I don't trust parallel boards much, so using multiple of these allows many batteries to be charged at the same time. (With 1 battery in use, 1 cooling off, and 3 being charged I can almost fly constantly).

Plug in the power before the battery! Otherwise it might keep acting as a voltage sensor, and not charge.

Got a DC-4S
cell checker --- working
balance charger --- it is working as a balance discharger
After plugging in the DC input and the battery, the display number keeps going down. Checking the battery with a multimeter verifies that the battery is being discharging...
Read the review and one guy's solution was reversing the crocodile connections but mine power input is correct...
Any help?

Great for checking your battery to see total and individual cell voltage, however...when I charged my 3S 2200ma LiPo it did not balance charge it very well...for some reason the display became dim and each cell was way off on each reading. I used another balance charger and it properly charged the battery.

I use 4 of those chargers.
It starts working as soon as pugged to the lipo.
Just showing voltages.
Its difficult to see whether power ist on or not.
IF THE POWER IS NOT ON it will discharge 1 or 2 cells down to ZERO in a day or 2.
(Thanks HK for not warning - loss of one of my 4s batteries.)

Cells up to 2200mAh are good to charge. Bigger need a lot of time. A 4s 3300mAh needs about 2h's.

I whished to have such a charger with the posibilty to leave it on the lipo all time and that it discharges the lipo to 3.5V per cell (safety) - 2-3 hours before flying i power them and get fully loadet and ballenced.

Well, I bought 4 and 1 is still reading voltage but no charging.
3 units just burned up the transistors from either small voltage
surge or possibly my mistakes. Either way they have poor isolation
from voltage surge or any momentary wrong connection.
If you buy them you may get error messages as they are also fussy about
the power supply input. They work if you are extremely careful but
one just fried from normal connection spark when hooking it up.
I like the concept but feel they are a little too sensitive with no apparent circuit
protection. If they did an upgrade I would buy more as they have a good readout and the case is good. But 4 fails is a bit high out of 4 units purchased.
Hope they improve these or remake them with more durable circuits.
Be very careful with them and maybe they will serve you well, but I am not too impressed at this time. Sorry Hobby King, this item needs some work. 2 out of 5
crowns just for the good concept.

Very simple but practical. Balance charges well. Unable to select charge rate but it charges a 1000 mAh 3s battery in roughly 40 mins (from 15pcnt).

I love this charger. Plug in power, plug in battery, wait for the fully charged beeps. Jobs done. So simple Also doubles as a battery voltage meter when not plugged in. Can't beat the simplicity as well as the price.
