Hit the high seas with style and performance with the HobbyKing® Rocket Power 650EP Formula 1 Tunnel! This high performance racing boat is for the discerning boat modeler who wants to go fast.

The Rocket Power 650EP arrives Almost Ready-to-Run (ARR), needing just a 2-channel surface transmitter and receiver, along with a 3S 11.1V 3000~4000mAh lipoly battery to get it going. The hull has been skillfully produced with hand laid fiberglass and then expertly finished with colorful graphics that are then clear coated toa high gloss finish. What sets the RP 650EP apart from other ARR boats is not just the quality of the final finish, but the sharply molded hull lines. This increases precision and tracking, important in the world of racing.

Powering the 650EP is a 2630kv watercooled inrunner brushless motor mated to a unique 45-degree flex drive that also pivots to provide precise steering action. This drive system is precision CNC machined from aircraft grade aluminum and comes pre-installed. The driveline angle can be adjusted as well to suit different conditions, whether you want to run wet, or even on the ragged edge of nose high. Access your motor and battery through a magnetically secured, foam filled hatch. Included in the box is a laser cut plywood display stand, spare propeller, balloon for waterproofing your receiver, and a roll of waterproof hatch tape for double security on that battery hatch.

The boat looks awsome out of the box . Pictures don't give it justice . Nothing to assembly , just go to your favourite lake and game on !
Motor is really powerfull , I ise a 4s and the speed is verry impresive . The ESC worms a little bit too fast , I have to rest the boat 15 minutes before I use second battery .
Overall , even thow the price was a little bit big ( 242 € ) , was worth every cent

I bought this boat for my grandson and upon trying it out on Christmas Day it wouldn't work. The prop would just stutter. After contacting HobbyKings support center they had me try resoldering the motor leads from the ESC. That didn't work so they are sending me a new ESC. I am very happy with their support and look forward to seeing my grandsons face light up when he gets to race his new boat. Thanks for supporting your product HobbyKing. :)

I got this boat on sale for under $100.
The fiber glass hull is very well made.
The CNC outboard leg is a work of art.
Motor and steering servo appear adequate.
I made a water-proof box for the RX.
I also fitted the alloy upgrade prop(once shaped, polished & balanced)
The stock Turnigy 50A ESC failed after 10 seconds with a 3S LiPo.
I've now fitted a Swordfish Marine 90A 6S ESC BEC which just fits.
I'm now using a 2700mAh 4S 40C Zippy Compact LiPo.
It now goes like a cut cat on flat water, it doesn't like choppy water.
Good little boat for the money I ended up paying.

Update on previous review - I was a little unfair on the boat, its actually great fun and great on choppy water. May not even need an upgrade!

Decent boat- great quality fiberglass and beautiful machined aluminium parts. Personally I would like to see some beefier electronics e.g 4s lipo with a bigger motor for the price range, but this boat still runs very nicely.
My boat came with a melted sticker and slightly iffy paintwork; with the occasional chip or slip.
Overall a nice boat itching for some upgrades to get it flying :P
For the money?- A great shell but personally might need a little more money putting into it.

Really like this boat (my first boat), looks great sitting on the shelf or powering along on the water. Really nice paint work and decals. Dogs love chasing it through the water and plenty of people stop to watch it run. I'm using 3S batteries at the moment which give good speed and I get 6min runtime. Going to try 4S next to see how much faster it can go. It likes smooth water a. s it tends to bounce when its a little choppy. I found the included waterproof tape left marks on the orange part of the paint work, so you may want to put a clear coat over that area. Rest of the hull had no issues. Easy to maintain as well, flex shaft comes out easily for maintenance. You wont be disappointed if you buy this.

I grabbed this when it was on sale. Great boat, i have a few boats small and large scale electric and petrol boats.
performs very well. Sits on the water great at speed. Quality hull and paint work.
has to be one of if not the best f1 hull i have owned.
i also got a turnigy 2650kv to upgrade but i wont need it as the 2600kv works great.
i have fitted the alloy 3 blade prop from hobbyking. You will need to drill the hole out to 4mm as it has a 3.17mm hole in the prop.
the leg drive is a credit to its designer. 45 deg angle is easier on the shaft. Has bearings in it as well, less friction.
lipo i ran was a zippy compact 3700mah 3s.

I bought the boat and it came with en ESC (marine) that doesnt save the throttle calibration. secod problem unlike genesis this boat is not very well finished. it seems beautiful but when peal off the tape from hatch stickers start to come off. paying 217 $ and having these kind of problems is very annoying. note: Definitely need to tilt the motor a little bit down if you don't want your boat fly: )
