Now in its third generation, HobbyKing™ brings you the Bix3, the ultimate training airplane and FPV platform. The Bix3 is the biggest, most versatile, and complete version of its family lineage. Coming with removable landing gear, plywood FPV tray, plastic belly skid, and optional flaps, you can customize your Bix3 exactly how you want it. Looking for the perfect trainer? Or an in-expensive FPV platform? The HobbyKing® Bix3 is it.
The Bix3 has all the right ingredients; made from super tough EPO foam, everything is pre-installed so minimal assembly time is required. In fact, by the time you have charged a battery, it should be ready to fly! The combination of size, low wing loading and a sleek fuselage make for an excellent model with capable, yet forgiving flight characteristics. The snap together two-piece wing makes the Bix3 a practical model that is easy to transport to your favorite flying field and can be ready to fly in just minutes.
Other practical features of the Bix3 include the large battery area that can accept a wide variety of battery sizes or house FPV equipment, plus the Bix3 also comes with optional flaps which can help cope with the extra weight. Simply install your own 9g flap servos, glue in the included hinges and you're ready. Even the control horns , pushrods, and Y-harness for the flaps are included in the box. We've upped the ante on the Bix3 by adding removable tail dragger landing gear including a steerable tail wheel. If you do not want to use the landing gear we have included a clear plastic belly skid to better protect the foam fuselage. Adding to the ruggedness of the Bix3 is a carbon tube that runs down the length of the aft fuselage, all the way to the tail wheel, so snapping a fuselage in half is a thing of the past.
For the FPV junkie, we have included a option plywood fpv mounting tray that replaces the stock sport canopy. This tray is perfect for setting up a camera with pan and tilt. For a fixed position camera, the nose is removable, able to accept small 1 inch square form factor cameras.
The larger wing, flaps & much larger canopy area mean that the Bix3 is a much more versatile airplane in terms of FPV use and for pilots who are simply flying for fun. However you decide to fly the Bix3, you can be assured that it is just as fun and easy to fly as ever!

Bought this for my first plane. Was a little tricky for beginner. First off the wing spar was way too tight, had to heat it together. Ailerons were backwards and I didn't realize until test flight (snapped fuselodge in half). Decals flake off, hinges crack so use tape, transmitter is garbage. Gimbles ended up sticking. It does fly great has good power and glides nice tooThis plane is great for beginners. I´m totally new in this hobby, but this plane makes it easy to learn! Great! If you want, you can check my second flight in the video: https://youtu.be/U4E0d9SPSR4Great plane, flies like a dream,. Getting 20minute flights on a 3s 2200mah lipo, it has lots of power, and glides wonderfully
Great Plane for beginner, very stable flights , Lots of power and get around 20 minute flight times on a 2200mah 3s 25c Battery, landings are supper easy, glides great, mostly fly with out landing gear and belly land, rtf had some radio issues (losing signal) with the HK-T6a v2 so now use a different radio, all in all a great plane for the priceReally nice "begginers kit". Model flies very stable. Unlike AXN Floater, takes off straight from hand . Floater tends to descend when leting it go from hand. Bixler takes off more like a glider. Easy on field assembly. Landing gear is useless on grass, although I managed to take off from wet grass runway once.Very gentle trainer, required a little nose down trim when not loaded with fpv gear. Order glue as this us not included in the kit. I would also recommend servo extender wire for easer removal of the wing, order two if also using flaps.FANTASTIC PLANE! I love how it looks and how it flies. After spending $150 and had my daughter full of energy to see her first RC plane flying, it turned out that the aileron servo needs to be reverse. The problem is you required a special cable that hobby king don't supply with the plane. Also its suppouse to be a trainer and RTF plane...
Whats going on HOBBYKING????? What I need to do now???
I'm glad it was not a Christmas present...
The well flown bix3, bought 3 times now. it flies great but needs more spareparts... if i could i would buy 10 of these and they would last a lifetime :)I purchased my Bix3 last year and this was my 1st plane, what can i say but i absolutely love this plane, its great for beginners, so much fun to fly, after flying now for quite a few months and progressing to different and faster planes i still fly this on a regular basis as its such an enjoyment, i cannot recommend this plane enough, you will not regret buying this...enjoy and happy flying from one very happy HobbyKing and Bix3 customer.
