Fun, easy to fly, the HobbyKing™ Mariposa Slow Flyer Trainer ticks all the right boxes. This slow flying, simple airplane is for those wanting a relaxing airplane or those new pilots still needing an extra measure of stability. The Mariposa is a Almost Ready to Fly model with a built up balsa and plywood airframe. You the modeler just need to install your choice of electronics and power package, then complete final assembly.

The Mariposa's balsa and plywood airframe arrives pre-built, and pre-covered. Begin assembly by installing the motor to the firewall which has laser etched marks on it already, speeding up build time. From there drop in a couple servos, glue on the tail and go. Assembly can be easily finished in a evening of work. To help reduce damage in case of a crash, the wing attaches with a few rubber bands. Access the battery through the magnetically secured hatch in the nose.

Out at the field, she's the perfect calm weather or end of the day flyer. Sit back, relax and buzz the field low and slow. A super fun touch and go landing machine. With such a low wing loading and ultra stable design, pretty much anyone can fly the Mariposa. New pilots will appreciate its docile nature, experienced pilots will love it too!

Build was simple, planes rather durable except for landing gear mount. Plane was very tail heavy and twichy, needed to add a few ounces of weight to the nose to fly right. FPV gear up front balances it well. For about $40 I am satisfied

It was a simple build despite the lack of building instructions (g servos and the recommended drive system. I bought it to teach my grandkids to fly Well satisfied with its handling in the air, it does need fairly light winds, < 5 mph for beginners. Well worth the money.

It's all balsa and Ply and well covered.. I do not know how they can present a product with this quality at a such price (example 32€ flash sale 20-05-2016). This model must be flown with zero wind to be handled with ease or it will bounce a lot. Overall I must give 5 start review.

So I just completed this build (no flight time). I built it as a trainer for one of the kids.
It builds very quickly, balsa construction is better than typical. Covering was much better than typical. Only downside was that the hinge (monokote) on the elevator an ailerons were not done appropriately and had to be cut and re-hinged, as they would not deflect far enough...
