HobbyKing™ Tanager 1200mm Slope/EP Glider PNP

The HobbyKing™ Tanager glider brings you the choice of flying an aerobatic flying wing soarer from the slope or the flat with its electric power option.

A precision built, light, carbon reinforced balsa and plywood structure makes the Tanager a great looking and slick performer in either configuration. The RF transparent Kevlar/epoxy molded fuselage pod can be left as it comes for use as a pure glider, or cut using the supplied plywood jig to allow a brushless motor to be fitted for flat field flying.

Assembly couldn't be easier; the servos are already built into the wing and are even connected to the elevons, leaving you to glue the fin and fuselage pod in place, fit your receiver and flight battery then fly!

Converting the Tanager to electric power is only slightly more involved; needing you to assemble the laser-cut plywood cutting jig, remove the extreme nose of the fuselage pod using the jig to ensure the correct side and down thrust angles are incorporated, followed by gluing in place the plywood motor mount.

Your choice of brushless outrunner motor (up to 28mm dia) can then be installed with a suitable 30mm spinner/prop and ESC to complete a lightweight electric power installation for use when there isn't a slope!

Whether you're flying the Tanager from the slope or the flat, the thin Zup1060 and Zup1065 airfoils penetrate well even in windy conditions with the powerful control surfaces making the model agile and responsive.

With its transparent red covering, natural Kevlar pod and carbon cloth hatch cover the Hobbyking™ Tanager is as striking to look at as its avian namesake!
