The HobbyKing Zulu Slope Wing is at a European level of quality and precision, with a HobbyKing level price tag. Designed by Zach Hoisington, including a custom refined airfoil, it has been thoroughly tested as a premier level model. Hand molded of the finest carbon, aramid and fiber glass cloth, this model oozes awesome.

Opening the box you are greeted to the 1 piece vacuum bagged blue foam core wing. Carbon/Aramid cloth is laid on the 45 degree bias which gives a torsional rigid wing, while carbon spar caps give longitudinal strength. Separately molded carbon wing tips can be attached permanently or with clear tape, depending on your preference.

For strength and rigidity, the fuselage/fin are molded in carbon fiber, while the removable nose section is Kevlar. This is to reduce the chance of any radio interference from the all carbon fuselage.

The Zulu was designed with both slope gliding, and electric power in mind. Included in the box is a laser cut jig you can use to cut the nose off if you decide to install a motor. This sets the perfect down, and right thrust for the model.

The level of pre-fabrication is amazing. Available as an Almost Ready to Fly (ARF) and a Plug and Fly (PNF) options. Either option can be in the air with minimal work. This model is great down to the tiniest details. Wing bolt holes have aluminum inserts to prevent crushing of the foam if you tighten it too far. Hardware is overly sufficient to do the job, yet light weight at the same time.

On the slope, it is a joy. The ultra thin airfoil penetrates, even in heavy wind with the large control surfaces making it extremely agile and responsive. With a motor installed you can take to to flat land fields as well as still making an awesome slope model. This makes it truly versatile as you can keep flying, even if the wind dies.

Great

https://www.youtube.com/edit?o=U&video_id=rAu4FpPRnw8 Works good wing had slight damage. But doesn't affect flight at all. works fine. I think they sent it because I managed to get it when it was 200 dollars, or it was damaged in shipping, not sure. But it is a very solid well built plane.

Mine is bad ass and it flies perfect. Way faster than I expected but lands slow if you give yourself some room to slow it down. I've had the kit for over a year and only regret not completing it long ago.

The overall quality is good
As suggested for the Zulu i bought the NTM 2826A 1200kv motor. But for my taste the motor has way to less power (would be enought for a slope version).
Later on i installed the SK3 2835-1500 motor with a 9x5 prop and i am flying it with a 40A ESC on 3S 1500mAh. With this combination the plane is a BEAST. Really fast and agressive.
The Zulu stepped up in my ranking to one of my most loved planes
