Hornby 00 Gauge R3670 BR Collett 2-8-2T Class 72xx Freight Train Pack Era 5 (DCC ready)

Hornby Railways is a British model railway brand that dates back to the early 1900s. Over this time it has become a household name and has consistently made high quality and highly detailed model railway products for beginners and the serious model enthusiast.

This train pack is representative of a mineral freight train operating in South and Mid-Wales during the late 1950s. A rebuild from the original Class 52xx built to Lot 233 in 1925/26, Class 72xx locomotive no. 7224 was rebuilt in November 1935 at Swindon. It's British Rail allocation was varied, spending spells at 86E Severn Tunnel Junction, 87D Swansea East Dock, 87F Llanelly, 87E Landore, 86J Aberdare, 83C Exeter, and 86A Ebbw Junction (Newport), from where it was withdrawn in December 1962.

The loco is supplied DCC ready, it is plug n play so no complicated wiring is required if you wish to run on a DCC layout. It has NEM close-coupled couplings as standard and the Collett Class 72xx loco is powered by an X6560 motor with a flywheel which provides a smooth and powerful drive unit.
