Wet and wild your kind of thing? With a top speed in excess of 80km/h, this missile of a boat will really get you going.
The HydroPro Inception is the flagship of HobbyKings new HydroPro Marine Range of premium quality boats. This excellent deep vee hull racing boat is made with extreme speed and handling built in to take you to the next level of fast electric racing boats. The slick looking Inception is both fast and furious with crisp, smooth handling qualities and comes in a highly visible fluoro yellow and black color scheme that oozes speed, even when it’s sitting still.
The high-performance water cooled brushless power system and running gear is pre-installed saving you the trouble of fitting out the boat. There are two different two bladed propellers provided which allow you to match the boats thrust output to different voltage battery setups. Using two 7.4V 5000mAh LiPoly batteries will give you approximately 60km/h speed or to get over 80km/h use two 11.1V 5000mAh LiPoly batteries. This will get you up on a plane in no time and with a high torque steering servo and a precision machined alloy rudder cornering a high speed will feel like you are on rails.
The hull is constructed from lightweight yet durable ABS and has a beautifully painted gloss finish just like fiberglass, yet it's offered at a much lower cost. The decals are applied before the final clear coat, sealing them from the elements and providing a spectacular look.
Aluminum alloy propellers, anodized aluminum rudder and stainless steel adjustable turn fins & trim tabs all add to the Inceptions high level of quality and craftsmanship.
The boat will be ready in next to no time due to most parts being already fitted. Just install the propeller, turn fins and rudder. Fit the batteries and you're off and going.

This is a very good ARTR boat that is also available as an RTR boat with a radio from HK for a little more cash, but this version keeps your options "open" so you can use a radio of your own choice.
The boat is basically the same as a Joysway Alpha 1000 (but with very small minor modifications to the decals) and is currently only available in the yellow colour option from Hobby King.
Unfortunately at the time of writing this review the boat is "out of stock", but I am hoping that it will come back into stock very soon - and I also hope that the red colour line (as per Joysway) will be added as this would make a very attractive alternative that I would like to add to my small fleet of fast r/c model boats - and yes I like it enough to want to buy another one!
This boat runs really well on 4S making it suitable for use on smaller expanses of water that would find the full 6S power a bit too much.
On 4S the boat runs for about 10 minutes on x2 5000mah 5C Nanotech cells and comes in with a slightly warm motor and speed controller. The plugs and battery are also slightly warm but nothing gets at all hot so the boats running gear is not under any stress and this should help extend the boats active working life before a motor or speed controller needs replacing.
The 90A SEAKING speed controller chops the speed as the cells get a bit low on power to protect them but still allows some restricted power - enough to bring the boat back alongside for easy recovery from the water.
I have yet to run the boat on 6S but I will be doing so shortly as I have found a bigger expanse of water to run it on and will enjoy the extra speed - but I also expect things to get a lot hotter after each run with the greater LiPo power!
Being able to switch between 4S and 6S is a good advantage that gives me more opportunities to run what is a fairly large 37" fast electric boat on smaller club lakes when I cannot get to larger lakes and resorvoirs where I can use the extra power.
Running this boat with 4S on a smaller lake can be very "exciting" as it is still very fast and the need to stay sharp and keep an eye on the rapidly closing confines of the lake walls demands my full attention and in many ways this is more demanding that running flat-out in open water 6S that has no immeadiate comparable danger!
This is a superb fast r/c model boat - lets hope the second red colour option becomes available from Hobby King soon as this can only add to the boats appeal and boost its popularity even further!Very good boat. I run on 6S graphene 5000mah 45C batt and esc and motor become hot but no problem at now. Very good speed and stability, i sailed with waves and flat water. On flat water at full throttle the run time is appox 7min, in a choppy water become 12min. The internal space are wide and comfortable, i suggest to add an external antenna to improve radio range. I would have preferred a more thick hull and a radio housing. I like very much this boat. Highly recommended and cheap boatWOW this is my 1st boat and omg its worth buying just to look at cheers hobbyking and well done lets see some more boats like this
thanks billThe boat arrived within 48hrs and in good condition as I have come to expect from HobbyKing.
HydroPro may be clones of Joysway boats but there are no corners cut regarding quality. The hull is plastic but is of a good thickness, the fittings are good quality and the whole thing is put together very nicely. The flex shaft and bearings are well lubed out of the box and everything has a quality/cared for feel about it. I chose to run with 4s and I am very pleasantly surprised with the speed and handling of the boat. It is faster and more forgiving than my TFL F3 which required lots of extra money spent to get a usable and reliable package (see my F3 review for further details). I have no hesitation in recommending the Inception as a usable fast boat that performs well on 4s with no overheating and should handle 6s if your local pond has the space to let the boat rip. If you order hardcase lipo's make sure you use low profile connectors or your hatch will not seal properly. Enjoy.Excellent boat, with 2 X 3S is a blast.
Running on salt water with no problems, but always flush complete system with fresh water after every run.

Not the best conditions, but the boat is excellent.
I would give the boat 9 out of 10, just great fun.Nice looking and fast boat regarding the price tag.
1) Do Tape the hatch otherwise water will enter into the hull !
2) Always grease the flexshaft after some runs.
3) Use high "C" rated lipo's ( 60 if possible ) I am using 2x 3S turnigy nanotech 65-130C 5000mah
4) WOT Running at 6S the motor will get very hot. So be careful with long runs on 6S
I only had 12 runs until now so can't say much about the durability. But it really runs good also on choppy waters.

As of now its what I consider the best electric boat that's as big in this price range. I'm Using 2x Turnigy 5000mAh 45c lipos with XT-90s connectors. I use my Flysky T6 Transmitter with dragonlink on this boat because that's what I already had.Like stated in another review, this is a fun boat! My first couple of runs were on 4s with the 4s prop, ran good and handled just as well. The conditions at the lake were far from idea and my Relentless v2 was undrivable in them, The Inception on the other hand, was awesome. Changed props and went to 6s and this boat becomes even more fun. So much so that the whole drive try cam unglued. Glued it back together with epoxy and the same thing happened this past weekend. Will try some other types of glue for this weekend. Will report back!I have had this boat for about two weeks now and I was truly enjoying it until the ESC caught fire and basically exploded. First impression I think the quality of the boat is outstanding and I was very impressed with how it looked and how the hatch lock mechanism work. And it is FAST! I clocked mine at 56 mph on 6s setup. For the money I think its a great boat but I really think Hobbyking should have put a better ESC in this boat. Maybe a 120 amp would've been better or even the seaking 180. After each run I had with this boat on 6s setup the motor and ESC would be VERY Hot. And on the 5th and final run, as stated earlier the ESC caught fire. If your planning on running this on 6s be CAREFULL. Luckily only ESC was damaged and somehow nothing else got burnt. I'm still waiting on Return/Warranty issue from hobbyking but hopefully they will send me a new ESC at least.
