got this from Jr radio manual -The JR receiver battery supplied is fitted with a temperature sensor to help prevent overcharging. The sensor lead is the additional white plug that exits from the battery. This must be connected to the matching white socket from the charger otherwise the receiver side of the charger will not work. Please note that the NEC 501 charger will only work with JR batteries fitted with a temperature sensor

Has anyone received a working version of this charger? I have now bought 2 and both were defective - there was no voltage whatsoever for the receiver side and the red light did not turn on. I checked this both times with 3 different receiver batteries and a multimeter.

My recommendation: don't buy this. It is worth paying $25 for the original JR item rather than $9.95 plus shipping both ways.

The charger I received was for 100v~240v ac with parallel pins

the extra plug with the grey wire is connected to a thermo switch (i dismantled it charger to check ) and MUST be bridged to the negative

wire to get the RX charger to work, the TX works in the nornal way

I have not yet been able to test this product since it comes

with a plug that does not fit in European wall sockets. That should be mentioned in the discription considering the price. Now I have to buy an extra adapter to make this work with the European standard. It is

quite compact though and should otherwise work fine together with my battery setup.
