I bought this motor for my scale CH53 helicopter. When starting it for the first time the engine blocks suddenly. Fortuantely the helicopter was on the ground. The ESC was defect too.
After unmateling the motor I saw the reason.
7 magnets were missing from production and 1 magnet was broken and blocked the motor.

The answer from HK:

Dismantled items are void from the warranty.

Just received this two of these motors and will use in a Hirobo shuttle E-conversion. Motor came with the cooling fans attached, but the connectors and shaft collars were for a 28mm motor, so I have to come up with a shaft collar for each motor. I will report how the motors run at a later date.

The magnet of the motor was damaged when raising the number of rotations of the motor.
Money has been applied vainly.

I can only warn everybody to buy this product.
1. it does not have a spring on the shaft to to keep the housing with magnets to the rotor.
2. the magnets came loose after 1st flight, destroyed the motor and damaged my heli.

Just tried this motor in a DeNight Special 60" pylon racer. Was looking for a high KV motor for sport flying with a 6-7 lb plane, that would run on 4S voltage. Very pleased with the behavior of the motor it is smooth and quiet with a 13 x 6 inch propeller. Motor didn't heat up.
The motor pulls far more amps than the 55A in the documentation. I started to heat up a 4S battery that can put out 100A. My guess is that amps spike close to 100A.
The DeNight Spacial can fit 2 x 5,000 mAh 4S in the battery compartment, and this should provide the current that the motor likes.

This motor lasted 30seconds in my Trex600 Heli. I new it was going to be be bad when I ran the motor up in the fram and mesured the vibrations with my cell phone like I do when I balance EDF units. The vibrations where off the chart. I think it would be a great motor if it was blanced better. Mine did have the fan. Maybe i should of left it off.

I just received another dut. I tried all possible combinations of timing, pulse modulation and pole counts with no improvement.
When the motor spins up, it starts to make a screeching sound because the magnets touch the stator. I can not even go to half throttle.
Anyone that was lucky enough to receive a working motor, what pole count, pulse modulation and timing settings did you use?
Thank you in advance.
