Warning! HobbyKing wants you to believe that their return policy is great. I bought this motor for my sons XXX-SCT 1/10 scale truck for Christmas. So the motor was hidden in the closet until Christmas. Being a novice at the hobby, I ordered the wrong motor. By the time he opened the box, the return window had expired. I e-mailed HK to ask if they would make an exception because of the Christmas holiday. They said NO. Just be certain about what you're ordering, or purchase locally, where you can actually receive some customer service.

very nice motor love the power on this motor for my 1:10 buggy used a 3s 40-50c lipo pack and it vent around 109miles an hour very fast motor highly recommend it although i have to wait around 15 min after changing my battery so it cools down. and don't go for a hk100a esc it blew 2 hk100a esc`s of mine currently im using a HK120A Sensored/Sensorless Car ESC and its doing very nice if any one in india reads it please contact me (name:-kunwar arora)(ph:-65249346) their are very few people in india who do rc.

The unit itself is very good quality and the price is outstanding. Question, anyone currently used this motor. What is the best speed controller for this motor?

I bought "Turnigy Super Brain 80A Brushless ESC" at the sametime, I spooling up slow for 10 seconds, the ESC getting very hot then stops working.

buy this engine and I take to esc 60a, is a very powerful engine and high consumption but has high power and high performance, perhaps you would need a 100A esc, so you do not go as far limitepero the engine is very good I recommend it

Recived this motor, and it's dead. It just "ticks" tested the esc with other motor, and it's not the esc. This is not such a cheap motor that you can buy a bunch of them! Quality control HK! Shame on you.

I know I shouldn't have....but I put this in my OFNA GTP2e (the motor is too small). I am running a Mamba Monster ESC with 4S 5000mAh 30C Turnigy pack. I have yet to run through a full battery charge. This motor easily handles the 1/8 scale buggy, so I can only imagine what it will do in a 1/10 scale! Heat, you ask? I am running a cooling fan on the motor, but I haven't been able to keep from shredding tires to run it long enough to make a heat analysis! AWESOME MOTOR - highly recommend. Oh, and the wires are stiff, but I had no trouble soldering on my own 5.5 mm bullets.

This motor is great, tore the teeth of my drift cars spur gear!

Might have to use a 2 cell lipo instead of a 3 cell.

Was scared to use full throttle with rubber tyres, its that fast now.

Cheers, HK

ordered one of these, when it started glitching out on me and needing a kick to get going i decided to order another and give it another chance, within 5-6 runs, the second one was doing the same thing, also could have contributed to my esc getting wrecked.would not recommend.
