Designed by the legendary Curtis Pitts, the Pitts Special has a proud history in aviation circles and is a favorite at an airshow. The prototype first flew in 1944 and although the aircraft has received refinements over time the current examples are still quite close to the original design. Pilots and aviation enthusiasts the world over have a soft spot for the Pitts Special, winning many aerobatic prizes and championships for its astonishing maneuverability and routines.

Kingcraft's almost ready to fly (ARF) version of the Pitts Special is the S-2B, a later and more powerful twin-seater variant, and a very recognizable airplane. Kingcraft has captured the true spirit of the Pitts with super scale detail coupled with a straightforward build.

All the hard work has been done for you, the airframe is a combination of balsa and light plywood construction with a painted fiberglass cowl, wheel pants, and spats. It also has plywood inter-plane struts, aluminum landing gear, and fairings with scale-like working suspension. To bring this traditionally built ARF to the next level we have also included a set of rigging wires for the wings and empennage, a life-like pilot, and an ultra-scale dual cockpit with instrument panels which fully resemble that of the full-scale Pitts S-2B.

The manufacturing quality of the timber components is completed by hand with high attention to detail. Design and flight testing is completed in house at Kingcraft to make sure the RC pilot has the best flying experience with their aerobatic powerhouse.

Embrace the performance and pull all the G's you desire with the Pitts Special S-2B from Kingcraft.

Awesome plane

Jun 04, 2020

I would recommend this to anyone who has had a lot of building experience.
Due to the abysmal build guide, you’re pretty much ion your own. There’s 8 mins of still pics on YT that got me through it, but even he gets it wrong in some steps. That aside, mine being powered by a power 60, it balanced at 118mm. Flying on a 6s 4000, she’s a blast to fly. No bad habits and flys on rails. I didn’t even have to trim it, which has never happened before with a new plane. A real head turner at the field, everyone stops what they’re doing to watch this beauty fly. The additional details on it are 2nd to none. Well worth 250.00

Not for the inexperienced pilot

May 12, 2020

The kit itself is completely beautiful.
I was missing the tail piece for the rudder and they did not have strings in the wings to pull the servo leads. Not cool !!! Instructions were poor at best and had to just guess on a few things.
Not for an inexperienced builder.
Flew it on 3800 4 cell and 46 e flight motor with 60 amp ESC. Flew terrible and crash landed on the third attempt.
Really needs a 5 cell or 6 cell. Needs more power as wing loading is a bit on the high side. I do not recommend this plane to anybody but an experienced pilot.

A beautiful plane and great flyer

Oct 03, 2019

I got quite a few flights on mine now. This is a great flyer and an absolute beautiful plane. I only get positive comments about it. It is a bit of a handful on the ground but it flies and tracks well. It is not cheap but youget a good product. The only thing that lacks is the manual with pictures that low res that you cannot make out any detail. Luckily there is a great rcgroups thread about this plane that helps a lot.
The new red version allready comes with a lipo try btw. A great addition because the lipo needs to go up front.
I highly reccomend the NTM 5050 motor on 6S for this one. This way it balances without lead and has heaps of power.

Great Plan bad manual

Sep 16, 2019

The manuals pics resolution is so bad you cannot see a thing. Build it according to the rcgroups thread. The plane is a very good flier and looks fantastic.

looks good

Aug 08, 2019

it seems it is a version 2 compared to the blue one. small différences. will see once it is build if the CG will be easier to achieve without having to put a monster battery and an over sized motor. This will be the winter build
