Less well known than the T-34, the KV-1 played a significant role in the defence of Russia during the early years of World War 2. Produced in 1939 it proved more than a match for German PzIII and PzIV tanks during Operation Barbarossa, the 1941 German invasion of Russia, where it was almost impervious to the 50mm anti-tank and the 75mm howitzer guns of the German armour.
Named for Commissar Kliment Voroshilov, the KV series of tanks were to become known for their extremely heavy armour protection and throughout the war were simply "up-gunned" with larger calibre weapons that were capable of knocking out the toughest German tanks.
The KV-1 was certainly key to the success of Russia's counter attacks after Stalingrad and were to prove menacing everywhere they appeared on the battlefield until the end of the war.
This amazing 1/16 scale radio control version delivers improved scale appearance and functionality including a rotating main turret and the gun barrel elevates 60 degrees. The track wheels run on an independent suspension system just as the real KV-1 did and this makes traversing difficult terrain very easy. Add to that an Airsoft firing main gun with simulated recoil, a smoking exhaust and some very cool engine and gun sounds and you have the making of some great model tank battles!
Finished in authentic Russian armour green this KV-1 also has plenty of scale parts to fit to the model such as track tools, vents and shackles. There are also spare track links, a decal sheet and comprehensive instructions.
This is a fantastic scale RC version of a great WW2 tank and given its finish and features it is truly astounding value for money.
