    Product Description

    The original ESR (Equivalent Series Resistance) meter was the go to meter for testing the quality of lithium batteries, this Mark II version has made things even better. It will instantly provide data for a tiny single cell right the way up to a high capacity 6S which allows you to check the health of your batteries. Unlike the original version where you had to load up the values of each cell individually, the Mark II differs in that it now allows you to connect the battery's balance lead directly to the meter. This means that you can check each cell simultaneously to give an almost instant reading making this upgraded version even more user friendly than ever. Another upgrade is that you can check batteries with a capacity of up to 25,000mAh instead of the original version which had a maximum of 10,000mAh.


    The ESR meter uses a pure "DC Load" method which gives more realistic readings for flight packs than most chargers which stop charging briefly, measure the cell voltage difference between charging and unloaded to determine the IR of a battery pack. The internal resistance of a battery is a crucial aspect of its performance and can affect the rate at which it can be safely charged and discharged. The ability to measure the internal resistance accurately in milliohms enables you to compare different makes of batteries with confidence rather than relying on sometimes suspect C ratings. The ESR meter not only takes into account the IR of the batteries themselves but it also takes into account the resistance of the leads and connectors. The bottom line is that this meter will determine the maximum continuous discharge current recommended for the battery, leads and connectors that are on test.

    Another faulty item from Hobbyking

    Dead on arrival from the EU warehouse. Then Hobbyking said it couldn't ship to the UK from the EU any more (I do it daily so I don't know what their problem is - and it's still unresolved months later), then said there was no stock in the global warehouse, so I took a refund and then took about 90% of my business elsewhere. Shame - I hear it's a really good product...

    Great meter, important meter

    I love this meter. Perhaps a little pricey but it does thee job and an important job of measuring battery internal resistance. I have three chargers that measure internal resistance and while they are good chargers they are not accurate nor are they at all consistent. This meter is consistent and accurate, tells me the real deal on my batteries health. Easy to use, I would recommend this device to anyone in the RC field.

    Learn what your batteries can really do

    When it comes to LiPo's, you only care about two things, cell internal resistance, and voltage sag under load. I had been relying on the internal resistance numbers provided by my chargers. No more! This meter provides an accurate value and precise (to 0.01 mOhm) instantly. The values are often much lower than the numbers from my charger. More importantly, it gives you an objective C rating free of marketing hype (yes, it is still based on a simple formula, but it is the same formula for every/any battery). Some batteries that were warm after a flight, were found to have higher internal resistances than those that remained cool. Have an older battery that doesn't seem to perform like it used to? This meter can easily help you track batteries as they age. Combine this meter with the data logging capabilities of the good ESC (mainly for voltage sag under load) and you'll have a complete picture of your battery's performance. This is a must have for hobbyists running high current vehicles. Be sure to buy or make a set of adapters so you can test all of your batteries.
