A result of 3 years in research and development these Taiwanese manufactured 90mm EDF units are on the cutting edge of EDF design.

The duct unit is made from aircraft grade high tensile Aluminum alloy to improve performance and help reduce deformity of the duct during installation. The 12 fan blade is the first in the world to use high tensile aluminum alloy, A result of 18 months of wind-tunnel tests and Computer Aided Evaluation. The fan unit reduces high speed deformation by 90%, compared to a conventional ABS or plastic fan.

All Moto-turbine parts are manufactured using precision CNC machine tools in Taiwan. CNC machining enables a high level of acuaracy in the manufacturing proccess and ensures strict tolerances can be maintained. Each fan is also factory dynamically balanced.

In conventional ducted fan design, the motor is secured to the stator hub while the fan secured to the motor shaft.  During operation, any imperfection in either the motor or fan will cause both the fan and motor to vibrate at a certain resonance frequency.  The oscillation can cause the blade tip to rub against the shroud of the duct.  Moto-turbine’s 3-bearing system reduces resonance vibration by 90%.

im surprised to see very good reviews about this. yeah the unit is quite light and it got incredible sound. but the THRUST is very low for 8s edf. tried with 9s, it's better and the motor can handle it. but again the wires are too hot with 9s and afraid to run more than 2 mins. for this price, it should be better. i won't recommend.

First class full metal 90mm EDF! Came perfectly dynamically balanced and the workmanship is amazing. The only preparation I made was to use some locktite to secure the parts that could unscrew (front and back fairings and the part of the shroud that is threaded together). Also added some epoxy to secure the motor wires from chafing through the front fairing. Flying it in a 5kg RCLander T-33 and it provides plenty of thrust with a very quiet, jet-like sound in the air. 8S is perfect for this fan but I'm running my 9 and 10S batteries. I am limiting the power through the YEP 120A HV ESC to prevent burning the motor (3000watts,89amps,3.2kg installed thrust). Without limitation on 9S this motor makes 3600watts, 107amps, 3.8kg thrust (installed in plane). At full 9S I found the motor wires running too hot for my comfort. The only thing that could have been improved is if they provided a proper intake bell mouth adapter (I made one from foam for my T33). Great EDF giving more than you pay for! Have bough another for my next project (Fiberglass Flyfly Hawk).

I have this unit and I am VERY disapointed about the performance. I installed it in my F9F-8 Cougar from Hobbyking with dlux 120A and it barely reach 65A and the plane didn't move from their place on very short grass 100pcnt throttle. Barely 2000g thrust approx. I took my HET motor with Change Sun turbine with the same ESC and batteries and it reached easily 125A with aprox 3000g thrust. I have a serious doubt about the quality and performance. But the sound and the balance are great. I consider that I lost 200$. :((( I can't tell if the motor is deficient because I just have one Mercury 1600kv but this is my experience. Hope this help. If you have information or experience to share, you're welcome.
