Get this little warbird. Fly on stock setup with 1000mah 3s and it goes on rails and pretty respectable vertical performance.
Dial down the endpoints if you are not familiar with micro warbirds and watch for P effect on takeoff. Also watch for tip stalls - most common if you try and land too slow, so land under power and go with the 1000mah 3s for weight in the nose.
The landing gear are robust to handle many less-than-greased landings on the road, but not good on rough strips. I use a 3 blade 7x6 prop that HK stocks and go thru them quite fast when on a rough strip.
The airframe looks great, tough as a boot, but the black and white stripes are tape and not applied that professionally. Looks great, looks scale, but not from close up.
I bought 2 because when you find a good plane that's what you do - then you fly the first one like you have another on - don't let having just one plane hold you back.
And BTW, I have the following planes by the same company: Hellcat (4stars), BF109 (4 stars), 2 x T28 (5 stars) and these 2 P51s (5 stars). I flew the F4U Corsair by the same mob (a friend's plane) and found it nigh impossible to get properly trimmed (2 stars for the F4U).
Happy warbirding!

I cannot find fault with this P51 Mustang. OK, if I must name a fault, then the decals could have been put on without a wrinkle here or there.
Seriously, this is a great plane and, with these FMS 800mm warbirds you really cannot miss. I have the BF109, T28, F6F and now this P51.
I recommend switching to a 3 blade prop and spinner for better ground clearance and, for less chance of tip-stalls I recommend an 850mAh 3s which the stock motor and ESC handle just fine.
Not a beginner's plane, but a great intermediate skill level plane.
Enjoy!

I retired my 650mm spitfire a couple weeks back and upgraded to this thing. Maidened it today. I use 3S-1000mah in this, and the CoG seems to be pretty much spot on out of the box.
The version I got is a little different to that pictured - the RUDDER servo came with the plane and is already installed including the rod / arm. The wheels are also a larger diameter than what is shown here.
The only complaint is that the linkages to the control surfaces are made of very brittle transparent plastic, the one for the elevator was already broken when I got it. I replaced them all with a less brittle ones from spares.
I have to say, its easier to fly than the 650mm spitfire I had, and goes like the clappers with 3S in it. I have to throw launch it due to the length of the grass at my oval, but that is a piece of cake - 70pcnt throttle and underarm it just pulls straight up and away.

Well i have only been flying for 3 months and this is my 4th plane
,This is a FMS brand of plane , long term review i have flown it for around 3-4 hours plenty of lipos through it , And its truly a amazing flyer ,
very well balanced with 2s or 3s 1000mah 30c all the way up front . i find it more fun on 3s , it really likes 3s hauls the mail ,inverted loops and rolls are ease to perform on 3s
Almost pulls vertical rolls unlimited on 3s , ESC and motor dont even feel warm ,so its not a problem ,
It glides well into the wind and can almost hover in strong breeze ,
i even fly it in 20kph wind no worries. over all highly recommended
and not to hard to fly ,60pcnt throws 40pcnt expo ,

Great looking plane, goes together very easily, its a no brainer!

There's just one thing, I've been flying it on 3s 1300mah, thought it didn't have enough go on 2s, unfortunately the thing just wont balance properly, it flies like an absolute pig, I have tried every possible location for the battery to get the plane to balance, it just won't, An absolute shame maybe I'll keep it as a static display!

This is a great little warbird.

Great size, not too big so can fly in any park and a bit of wind doesnt hurt it. This was the first low wing plane I flew and I hand launched it and flew it for about 8 minutes with a big grin on my face and then fluked a perfect landing (with landing gear attached) on grass.

Not sure if I had the COG perfect as I'm no expert but I put my 2 cell 1000 mAh bat as far forward as it would go and it flew true and level and was super stable, easy to turn, fast or slow, just a gem of a plane.

It was so good I bought the Mess 109 in the same range as its supposed to be the best flyer of the group.

Quality is superb, as good as the eflite/parkzone standard range and half or third the price.

Grab one, you will not regret it!

This is my smallest model and I think it is the most fun, great for the more restricted areas, handles rough air better than most, flies like its on rails. It takes off from the ground just fine if you hold the Elevator back and dont try to do a "scale takeoff". If you are using grass fit Super Light Wheel D45xH12 PRODUCT ID: OR006-00905 $4 and it will land without tipping. All components fit properly and it assembles easily, almost no glue needed.

A perfect score no wonder it sells out so quickly.

Great little plane. Flew it today with 3s 1000. Hand launch. Only a small amount of trim required and no problems at all. Did a few laps and brought it in - landed on a clover field. Nice and soft. No damage at all. Now that am over first flight am looking forward to doing more with this plane. Great value.
