Guys, have found what I believe could be the source of the fan vibration at mid rpm. When I wobbled the fan end of the unit sideways I could feel a definite movement that I think is excessive for a hi speed motor. I dismantled the unit and found the front and rear bearings are loose in the housing, but a good fit on the shaft. I will lubricate the bearings as others recommend and re-assemble the unit using bearing lock(green Loctite) on the outside of the bearings to fix them in the housing. I will report my findings when I have tested my fix.

Bought this plane for about a year ago.
This has been my favorite model from the start.
Very easy to control, flying both slow and relatively fast.
This was my first EDF model and fit fine for me as a beginner at the time, but the model is still as much fun to fly with today.
Fan is unbalanced and the retracts is no good, the nose wheel broke on my second takeoff.
I fly mostly on grass, so the small wheels were not ideal for this anyway, so I took off the wheels.
Wheel wells are now perfectly suited as a handle so the model is very easy to launch by hand.
It does high alpha very easily, just pull the elevator and control the throttle.
Good value for money!

This model is one of those models that you spend half hour building and literally fly...the CG is right on with 2200mah 4s as recomended, power is good floats with no power, and looks awesome in the sky...i get these by standers going oohhh ahhh like they are making love with themselves.

I received this plane as a gift. It was well packaged and had no damage. It went together well as most of it was built. It would have been great to have some short carbon spars or wood dowls installed so that there was something supporting and aligning the wings while they were glued....I installed my own.

I had to modify the hatch, the part that protrudes down into the battery area....this was too long and with my pack, the canopy would not seat. So I shortened it just a tad.

Landing gear...these needed a little bit of work. First the tail gear...the wheel and strut assembly has to be screwed into the retract mechanism...the strut is threaded on when end. A problem I encountered was the holes in the plastic retracts were not drilled deep enough. This caused me to strip them out slightly before I figured out what was going on. I ended up drilled them a tad deeper and they threaded in just fine...without doing this the wheels would not seat in the wheel wells when retracted. Second thing I found is the gear would not positively lock when extended. I found the retract mechanisms are of the lock design however on the rears, the linkage was not extended far enough to put them into lock position. The same was true on the front, however it was binding severely to get into lock. So pulled the front apart and with a dremel, smoothed down the cam inside the retract, reassembled, adju

I have a couple of these planes..... one of the best for the buck hands downs. She flies very stable....fast or slow. High Alpha is a blast. Big and durable being EPO.... does not get much better. I will order another for sure. 2 Thumbs Up.

This is such a great plane, it flies so nice. It's no rocket, but plenty fast for me, and slow flight is so easy, no bad stalls. High alpha is no problem, just take the elevator back and slow down the throttle, and there you go.

The retracts are not good, loose, heavy and breaks of easy. I removed them on mine, and got at 1:1 power to weight ratio, it got 123 grams lighter.

With a Zippy 4s 2200mah 40c batt, and the CG just right. I get about 5 min. flights.

The quality is great accept for the retracts, and the esc is easy to setup, and the servos are cheap but do the job great.

All in all this is a great plane, I would recomend this Mirage 4000 to poeple who is trying edf for the first time.

I didn't buy mine from hobbyking, didn't know they had it.
