I have two of these. They are fast, strong and center accurately BUT they have a lot of gear backlash. The long output arms have about 0.5 mm gear slop at the end. This is okay for a foam plane but not okay for a helicopter. I don't see what metal gears have to do with it because the Futaba mg s3156 has zero backlash -(

positiv:

I use these on my Blade 400 cyclic. The installation was trickier than expected. I didn't know that the leads are so short. I actually had to turn the receiver 180 degree to reach the elevator connector. The two others are difficult because the leads exit on the opposite site of the housing compared to Eflite stock servos. I had to take one servo head off to slip the body into position and then screw it back together. They work fine though.

I think most of these reviews are posted just to get a discount - unfortunately this practice does not help the rest of us in making a decision.

I'd like to know who is testing and how they are testing these servos. One poster says garbage - the next - best servos ever. Too much descrepency to believe anyone. These reviews are beginning to mean nothing - there needs to be some type of control.

The MKS DS servos are the best servos under $100 I've seen so far. The 460, 470 and 480 are very similar just different gear ratios/speeds. I've used 3 460's for the swashplate in my SJM360 and a DS480 for the tail.

They're super fast, dead accurate, metal gear all the way through, and very low friction - you can turn them very easily by hand. They hold position very well and have around 0.1 degree resolution based on some tests.

Also, this is actually one of the few servos where I believe the <0.1 sec for full deflection. Highly recommended - just bought another few for a hotliner.
