A result of 3 years in research and development these Taiwanese manufactured 64mm EDF units are on the cutting edge of EDF design.

The duct unit is made from aircraft grade high tensile Aluminum alloy to improve performance and help reduce deformity of the duct during installation. The fan blade is the first in the world to use high tensile aluminum alloy, A result of 18 months of wind-tunnel tests and Computer Aided Evaluation. The fan unit reduces high speed deformation by 90%, compared to a conventional ABS or plastic fan.

All Moto-turbine parts are manufactured using precision CNC machine tools in Taiwan. CNC machining enables a high level of acuaracy in the manufacturing proccess and ensures strict tolernances can be maintained.

In conventional ducted fan design, the motor is secured to the stator hub while the fan secured to the motor shaft.  During operation, any imperfection in either the motor or fan will cause both the fan and motor to vibrate at a certain resonance frequency.  The oscillation can cause the blade tip to rub against the shroud of the duct.  Moto-turbine’s 3-bearing system reduces resonance vibration by 90%.

Fits nicely in the reportedly under-powered F-117. Hopefully maiden her in the next few days, as far as thrust goes.... HOLY COW BATMAN!!!

I bench test this unit several times before installing it,hoping to give it the proper run in time. I built the BAE Hawk - Red Arrow 70mm EDF(HOBBYKING) and installed this unit. It is a tight fit ,I used a small amount of foam safe lubricant on the side of the can, which allowed it slide smoothly inside the airframe. The install point is right behind the wing. I installed the entire unit, which I believe you could use just the fan can , but I didn't want to upset the air flow design. I power the unit with the 14.8v nano tech 2200 25-50,with a 80 amp speed control. On the Maiden flight I hand launched the aircraft at full throttle , it jumped in the air going verticle for a moment, when I reduced the power the air craft leveled out . I completed the trimming of the control surfaces taking note ,that I was a little tail heavy, which I thought it would be nose heavy ,due to the battery location and weight. This turbine has a ton of power ! I kept it at half throttle with a few bursts, I didn't set my timer on my radio ,but the guys at the field told me I was up for nearly 20 minutes ! The battery being just warm. I would recommend this unit for most 70mm EDF size planes ,taking wieght to thrust ratio into consideration of course. I will be purchasing a few more of these ! ! !Lots of fun and a whole lot of thrust.......

I bought the 4600kv version of this moto-turbine 64mm. Wow, was I surprized. It works great in a Jetiger that I got from HK. This thing flys about 80 mph or a little faster. I am waiting for the 3700 kv one to arrive. I will buy TWO and put them in an A-10. That will probably fly about the same speed as the real A-10. If you are looking for a great EDF in 64mm size, THIS ONE CAN'T BE BEAT! It sells for over $80 at the company's website. BUY NOW!!!

Runs beautifully smoothly and is very well made at the price.

I am getting 700W plus from a 4s1p 3300mAH battery, I wont quote the Volts Amps readings as my Battery is rather well used and abused.

Sat it on my old aerobatic glider 72" span 4CH at about 2,5lbs auw.

goes vertical!

An excellent fan unit. Beautifully built. Very good for sport jets with the nice tail cone. Don't have a suitable 4 cell battery at the moment but ran it on 3 cells at just over 30 amps. Perfectly balanced, completely vibration free with a great jet like sound.

This is a solid piece of engineering. Super high quality. Very well made. Considering mounting it on a metal plate and have it on my desk just for fun. This is artwork!

Hi Guys,

Received my EDF Unit earlier in the week and have run a couple of tests on it. After removing the unit from the box it doesnt take long to realise it has been made to quite a high standard and assembled well. Balance marks are evident. Not as good as some other units on the market but in saying that you are not paying anywhere near the price. I give it 4 stars for quality of assembly and finish. Losing one star as the performance of my unit does not come up to the specs provided but as I was saying not bad at all for the price. Figures below are from my Hyperion E Meter so should be reasonably accurate. Figures are after everything has settled down and not peak figures as some record which I believe to be false. I believe continuous performance is what you should be looking at. Just my opinion.

1st Test

Battery Rhino 1750mah 3s 20c

Volts 10.3

Amps 27

Watts 283

Thrust 510g

2nd Test

Battery Nanotech 4500mah 3s 25c

Volts 11.8

Amps 32

Watts 382

Thrust 560g

3rd Test

Battery Nanotech 3300mah 4s 25c

Volts 14.8

Amps 47.3

Watts 700

Thrust 810g

Not sure that my unit could provide 1kg as specified but is good enough for the little foamy I have put it in. I think on a small 4s battery that can supply a continuous 50amp this unit would be an excellent upgrade to any 64mm EDF. I have installed mine in a small F9 Panther from HK with

Bought one and when it arrived and I had a good look and could see just how well it's designed and put together I imediately ordered a second one. This is not some cheap and nasty toy, these are the real deal. Everything about them is well thought out and a lot of it is completely different to other units. One especialy good thing is the high tensile alluminium fan is atached securely to the can of the motor by 4 bolts making it an excelent heatsink.

10 stars if I could.

I have also just received my fan it is very pretty indeed well made and perfectly balanced i can see were they have ground a little bit of the can to balance it,i am still waiting on my amp meter to test but it gave 740 gms of thrust on a 3 cell 25c i will update my findings when my nanotech 45-90c 4 cell batteries and amp meter arrive i am thinking around 1kilo of thrust .

Just received the EDF. It's a fantastic piece of machinery. Very well made. The fan is carefully balanced. I took 3 pictures of the inner parts and attached them here in the "File" section. They speak for themselves, I think. I am goint to test run it soon. It's almost a pity to hide this nice Turbine inside a foam plane.
