A result of 3 years in research and development these Taiwanese manufactured 64mm EDF units are on the cutting edge of EDF design.

The duct unit is made from aircraft grade high tensile Aluminum alloy to improve performance and help reduce deformity of the duct during installation. The fan blade is the first in the world to use high tensile aluminum alloy, A result of 18 months of wind-tunnel tests and Computer Aided Evaluation. The fan unit reduces high speed deformation by 90%, compared to a conventional ABS or plastic fan.

All Moto-turbine parts are manufactured using precision CNC machine tools in Taiwan. CNC machining enables a high level of acuaracy in the manufacturing proccess and ensures strict tolernances can be maintained.

In conventional ducted fan design, the motor is secured to the stator hub while the fan secured to the motor shaft.  During operation, any imperfection in either the motor or fan will cause both the fan and motor to vibrate at a certain resonance frequency.  The oscillation can cause the blade tip to rub against the shroud of the duct.  Moto-turbine’s 3-bearing system reduces resonance vibration by 90%.

This is a top quality unit. I fitted it into an RCM&E Ezyfan that I built and it goes like a rocket. It will put out nearly 500W on 3 cells so be careful. I have already fried a NanoTech 3s 2200 by flying too fast for too long. It is a pity there is not better stock availability.

This unit is incredible. It is as smooth as silk. Using NanoTech 3S 1500 LiPo and 80 Amp Plush ESC it is running about 500Watts in a plan built RCM&E EziFan. It goes like a rocket and sounds amazing!

installed in the Hobbyking Jetiger after removing foam from the top cover. pulls 38 amps with a 2200 3s and a 60 amp s/controller. What a little ripper. Fantastic at half throttle and ballistic with the pedal to the metal and quiet at the same time.I would give it more than 5 stars if i could. ps cut away foam at the front of the motor where the leads exit to ensure sufficient cooling.

The apperance is very nice and perfectly balanced. Awesome sound. I did a bench test using a Turnigy 12.6V 3000 mAh 20C battery with Hobby King 50~50A ESC, total power consumption 600 watts After 20 seconds, motor got only warm.

I installed this unit in a scratch built delta wing that I have flown before. The plane was previously powered with a plastic type hobby king EDF64.

On the bench tests with a scale there appeared to be just a few ounces more thrust with this unit than the previous one. Also I found the unit very vibration free for the first 90 of throttle but a slight vibration at the very top end.

I test flew the plane with the newly installed EDF. I flew 3 flights at mostly half throttle, occasionally opening up to full throttle for brief moments. I checked the EDF and the full throttle vibration was gone after the 3 flights. Totall vibration free now through the entire throttle range.

Although the bench tests showed just 2 or 3 ounces more thrust, in actual flight, the increase in power felt much greater. Occasionally I would hit full throttle and the plane just climbed out like never before. IMHO there are other forces at work, in flight, that can not be measured holding a plane statically over a scale.

This is only the third EDF plane I have had. I have more experience flying glo powered prop planes with pipes, etc. I believe the increase in power is similar to a high performance glo engine and how they can unload in the air.

I used the two 2600 3s lipos that powered the plane before. They were standard 20c and 40c units and they came down warm and a littl

Very cool sound. Sounds a super hair drier on steroids. The weight is killing it. 2200 mah lipo + 70a ESC + receiver + this fan sum up to neatly 500g. What about my 380grams plane? total 880g. Can this fly with the mention 580g thrust?
