MT Dragon W35E1

Nov 14, 2007

Bought this motor as a speed 600 replacement for Balsacraft Hurricane, due to it's similar size and weight. Hilarious performance on this 44in span, 2lb 13oz model. Amps measured 41 on 10X7 APC e prop and 52a on 11X7. Flys at 1/3 throttle, and out of site vertical on 2/3. No issues with running out of true. Recommended for anyone wanting to pull the firewall out of their old speed 600 model!

Dragon W35E1 great for crawler

Nov 14, 2007

I tried the Dragon W35E1 instead of expensive Hyperion outrunner motor in my Tamiya High Lift F-350 truck with awesome results.

The ESC is a Castle Mamba Maxx and batteries subC 3600mA NiMH from LRP.

Absolutely no cogging and great torque. About 2km/h in first gear and 15km/h in third gear without any thermal issue.

Will buy another one for a 2.2 class crawler.

W35e1 1090kv - Good Motor

Nov 14, 2007

Just connected the motor up to a fresh charged 3s2p Thunder Power Pro-Lite. The motor runs very well and performed just about as expected and calulated on Motocalc. Its weight with all adaptors and connectors was 189g. But for me the Kv is too high for my 3D needs. I was needing to swing at least a 12x6 prop for a 53 oz plane, but it will only swing a 10x7 apc and say at about 40 amps.

Slight wobble in the motor can toward the rear of the can (back by the wires) as it spins. So it is a little out of balance or round, but runs smooth at Wide Open.

Here are the prop tests I did with APCe props and a 3s2p TP PL pack:

10x7 - 41.2amps

11x7 - 51 amps

12x6 - 53.3 amps

12x8 - 61 amps

MT Dragon W35E1 1090Kv

Nov 14, 2007

I bought this motor about a year ago for a propulsion physics project. This motor provides the torque and speed needed to run a 9" prop with ease! I suggest using 3 li-po cells along with a 60A esc. Also, I was very impressed with the price of this motor over most prices listed on ebay. I am going to buy another very soon!
