Great Option for configuring in the field

Jan 11, 2019

So I got this to use with my first built and connect it on a Naze32 via UART2. Only drawback is that I cannot use the SBUS for the receiver now, but I might switch the connection of the dongle to the UART1 soon. Seeing that with the hints in the comments below Project Bluefalcon's video on youtube I could easily get it to work with cleanflight on my PC now, I do not need the USB of the Naze anymore (since the ESCs are already configured).
The app doesnt work with my old trusty s5 mini though, but as said before, I can use the PC. Love it.

I was adjusting PIDs from my phone in no time. Great product and a must if you need to make changes to your flight controller in the field.

Using this with a homemade MultiWii controller, works fine out of the box. I see others say they've used with with 5v, but not for me. I'm running it through an adafruit level converter, just needed to add a 3.3v circuit to my controller. Recommended and would buy again.

Decent Bluetooth chip. Was easy to install on Naze32 running cleanflight 1.9.0 plug and play. I use it with EZ-GUI on my Note4. Ive mounted it on the underside of a 180mm quad with Velcro, and get ~10m range LOS in parks. Good for monitoring vBat (I have no radio telemetry), and tuning PIDs during a session. Ive also used it to configure Cleanflight on my laptop connected via Bluetooth. The heatshrink is decently thick and provides good protection. The included leads are colour coded, and the PCB includes an ordered label. With total weight is approximately 4.5 with the leads, which can be re-crimped. They are the typical 2.54mm with single-position housings (I swapped to 2x 2-position).

I give it 4 stars because the lack of documentation, which can be found by a small amount of google magic. Other than that it works prfectly. Default settings it comes with are: Name HB-02, Password 1234 and 115200 baud.

This product is create because you can use it to create a Bluetooth bridge from your say, tablet to the 900mhz telemetry transmitter. This is great because you get a clean set up, and not all tablets support USB host mode for the transmitter! Remember, to swap your Tx and Rx round when you connect to your telemetry radio!

works as advertised with android devices. Board is set to the correct baud rate so no mods are required using an FTDI board. Trying to see what I need to do to get it to work with IOS devices so more to come ...maybe.
