NGH has become known for building quality model gas engines that offer lightweight, power, and reliability at a very affordable price. They are manufactured and designed from scratch for model aircraft, they are not modified chainsaw or similar types of engines that have been about in the past, they are purpose made.

The GT9 Pro is the second generation of this popular engine, it has been redesigned to give even more power and has a completely new NGH 20G Pro twin needle carb to give good reliable running and throttle response plus easy starting. The internal diaphragm pump of the carb is driven by crankcase pressure taken from the side of the cylinder to give reliable fuel flow to the carb whatever the attitude of the aircraft and regardless of the tank position. The ignition system is the new NGH automatic advancing angle system that is manufactured for them by Rcexl who have been manufacturing ignition systems for many years.

The GT9 Pro still retains features such as a sand-cast crankcase with NGH logo and ballraced crankshaft, the cylinder head and prop driver are now in classic silver (as opposed to the earlier blue anodized ones) which gives it a new very smart, durable look. helpful hint. it you take the hub off that has the magnet for the ignition make sure you put it in the same way it came off otherwise you will never start it

NGH makes neat little engines the Glow style layout is a godsend for asnyone transitioning their fleet from Glow to Petrol. The only issues I have is the muffler which, thoughtful quality, is too large a diameter for many cowls It would be nice to make it a thinner rectangular profile or Pits wrap around style. These Pitts styles are avail thankfully. HK should stock these. Why manufacturers make large torpedo styles instead of flatter profile rectangular types adding great bulk has always bemused me in our hobby

I have a bit mixed feelings about this engine. It looks nice, it is compact also cdr is small, and
fits nicely in place of 40 to 50 size glow engine. Seems to deliver close to same power as 40 to 46 2-stroke or 50-60 size 4-stroke glow engines. But that about the positives. I had big troubles to get it even started very first time. Main issue that prevented start was unstable cdi. It worked some day, but other day quit very soon after start. After quite much debugging I concluded the cdi module was broken, it was very sensitive to warming. Just keeping it few moments in hand warmed it enought so that it quit totally. After cooling it quite a while it started ignite again. So I replaced the cdi. Hk did not refund as I reported failure a bit after warranty time, although all this happened while I was still trying to break in the engine. Other comments come for the carburetor, which is quite odd. If is quite difficult to tune. The barrel needs to be open quite a lot more than instructed for idle, more than 2mm. Also the high end is very much impacted also about low end needle. Somehow I think the carburetor is designed for some other engine, the full dynamic range of carburetor is not usable. And I think I know something about rc engines, I have run or am running tens of them, many brands, glow and gas. This one has been probably the most difficult to get running satisfactory. Engine is not a hand flipper, starter is a must. Minor additional thing, the breather tube that comes with engine can not stand the heat and should be replaced with better. But finally my engine is running in a way that it can be flown. Lets see how long.

Please bring it back to the EU warehouse!

Please bring this motor back to the EU warehouse in appropriate quantities. I put one in a flight model with a 1.35 m wingspan instead of a 0.46 methanol engine and it runs very well without accidentally going out. I only took over the exhaust of a methanol engine because the original exhaust is too loud for my colleagues - our airfield.
Unfortunately it is always sold out very quickly and I still have models waiting for it.

For the money nothing else comes close it's a little bitchy while breaking in but quickly opens up the large runnable pocket with a easily obtained sweet spot. Castor or die
