The P-51D was a fighter pilot's dream!

With a top speed of over 430 mph, a service ceiling of 42,000ft and a 1300 mile range, the marriage of the V-1650 Rolls-Royce Merlin engine built under license by the Packard Motor Car Company and the superb North American P-51 airframe became a world-beater.

Able to escort the USAAF bombers for their entire mission, P-51 pilots were tasked with flushing out the German Luftwaffe from their home bases and eroding their numbers.

This 680mm wingspan replica is finished in the colors of the one flown by Major William "Bill" Price of the  USAAF; 353rd FG; 350th FS, based at Raydon in Suffolk, UK 1944-5.

Such is the scale detail on this great little model that it comes complete with its own desktop display stand for showing-off when you're not flying it!

The model has full 4 channel control on ailerons, elevator, rudder and throttle; a scale 4-bladed propeller, exhaust stacks, antenna mast and cockpit detail, together with a scale pilot figure.
The surface detail underneath the dark earth/green camouflage enhances the already fine looks of this iconic fighter.

For simplicity and weight saving the P-51 has no undercarriage fitted, providing a perfect solution to the need for a quick mission over the local park!

The plug and fly format of this model only requires a few minutes of assembly time, even a screwdriver and velcro are included!

All you will require to have this Mustang in the air is a 2S 650~850mAh 20C LiPoly battery and your own transmitter and receiver.

No spare parts

May 06, 2018

Great looking plane, great value. Powerful motor, quite a few down sides. The biggesy one is no spare parts are available. EPS foam isnt as durable but still a great looking plane and fairly resilient. The props however are not, and cannot find direct replacements anywhere. The hobbyking team has been less the helpful with recommending alternative.

nice warbird under the 250g

Nov 03, 2016

since this p-51 weighs under 250 gramm it is legal to fly almost anywhere in most countries. (counts as toy in europe and does not need registration in the US)
with its 680mm wingspann and lots of power it feels a lot more like a real rc warbird then others under the 250g mark (like the umx planes for example, that only weigh 50g and are much smaller). i uploaded a video to the video section of this page. (unboxing/assembly/maiden)

Hallo, habe mir diesselbe gekauft.

Nice to look at - but not to fly!
