NTM Prop Drive motors are rock-solid performance outrunners with tight windings, quality bearings, correctly rated magnets, balanced stator and flux rings, tool-steel shafts plus they are QC checked at 14 points, from material processing all the way through to final dyno test.

Because we design and build these motors completely in-house (from 3D/2D drawing to materials sourcing, machining, balancing, final assembly and dyno) we can completely control production and ensure product consistency from design right through to shipping the product to you. The removal of middle-men has meant we can drive better value to the market and retail these motors at factory(our) prices! All performance figures are real and tested on our own motor dynos.

Our QC engineer checks and balances each motor before shipping to the HobbyKing.com warehouse.

Very disappointed. Motor threw armature windings after less than 2 months use and approximately 25 flights. Now scrapped. Using 6 cell battery, 14x10, 15x7 or 15x8 prop.

Big motor! Really it is smaller then I imagined, but it has a nice power/weight ratio.

Make attention the rotor is 'inversed'

It is an very nice motor just make sure you always stay below the max current of 70A otherwise the magnets will come loose. I use this motor in all my 3D 60"planes but I don't run them stock (I re-glue the magnets). On 6S with a 16x6 Turnigy lightwood prop:
Max Power slightly above 1400W
Max current=71A

Motor performance and info can be checked in one of my build threads on RCG:

I read the reviews on this motor and glued the magnets before I used it for the first time. So far so good. I did hit a couple of problems. 1) The shaft was out of alignment so there was a wobble when it spun. I thought the prop adapter was the problem but it turned out the motor case where you bolt the prop adapter is not perpendicular to the shaft. I had to add a VERY thin shim to one side behind the prop driver before I bolted it down. 2) There is NO WAY the prop test data for this motor is correct. It says 15x8 - 22.2v - 1256W - 56.6A. NO WAY! I am running on a 6S pack and with a 15x8 is wants to pull something crazy like over 80A! Turnigy Plush 100A ESC and Turnigy Nanotec 6S 45C. I had to pull the end point adjustment of the throttle channel back to 50pcnt to get close to 60A so I was not pumping more than 1300W through this motor. Be careful with prop selection with this motor as it is 500kV so that means 11,300 RPM on 22.6V. A 15 x 8 is going to need more than 1300W to spin that fast. My 2c.

I bought one of these NTM42-58 500kv 1300W motors to put in my T6 Texan ii from Phoenix Models. I bought it instead of the recommended Rimfire .46 or .55 motor in the kit. The kit calls for a motor in the 1000W to 1400W range. At a 1/3 the price this motor is amazing. The T6 Texan is 8.5 lbs and using a 14x8.5E prop I get great performance from the motor. It is coupled with a Turnigy 85A ESC w/5A SBEC and a Turnigy 6s 5000mAh 25c battery. This power setup is more than enough power to fly the T6. This is my first NTM motor so time will tell how it holds up. I have a wattmeter coming to measure the power draw, but so far nothing is warm after I fly for 5 mins. I would definitely get one of these for any 60 size airplane. This is a great motor and I will by buying other NTM motors in the future.

Awesome product! I'm running it in my Sbach 342 60E with a 15X8 turnigy lightwood prop and Zippy Compact 6S 3300mAh/ 35C. Unbelievable insane power!
This motor came with a retaining ring for the magnets which should prevent them to come loose.
I will update this review later with wattmeter test data.
