Extend your range and increase your link robustness with the OrangeRx cPPM receiver. This is the long antenna version making it ideal for FPV racing and for models with carbon fiber frames. The extra length of the antenna allows you to route them outside of the model.

OrangeRx receivers are built using original components, MCUs and with state of the art SMT automation to ensure a quality product each and every time. Every R618XL is manufactured using impedance matched PCBs with exact tuning to provide signal stability and range that exceeds any of the previous generation ORX products. In fact, our testing has shown that the R618XL exceeds the range of other receivers in the same class.

All R618XL OrangeRx receivers are QC tested using our latest method that ensures range checking takes place as the receiver is programmed. Simply put, if the R618XL cannot pass the range check it cannot be programmed, this ensures 100% of R618XL are guaranteed to work flawlessly.

The R618XL ushers in a new era of quality, reliability and performance for the OrangeRX line up.

This receiver features TRUE DIVERSITY technology. It is especially important for long range flights and in situations where you need more robust reception. It is also very useful in aircraft with carbon fiber frames where antenna can be in shadow of the airframe.

If one of the antennas cannot receive signal due to its orientation of airframe shadow, the satellite will use the other one and will still receive proper commands from transmitter. We tested these satellites in real flight tests many times and achieved 2 or more kilometers line of site performance. Please note that your range depends on the conditions in your place – interference, WiFi presence, obstacles and even air humidity.

This receiver has been tested and fully compatible with following flight controls:
- Naze32
- CC3D
- KK2
- MultiWii - APM(2.0 and up)
- V-Bar 5.3

If they work, they are great!

If it works, its a great deal. So far the 4 i bought have odd blinking light and twitchy servo issues but still bind and pass the range check. I'v flown with all 4 with no range issues.

If they work, they work well

May 08, 2018

bought a few of these over the last few years, never had a problem, always binded well, worked great for line of sight. Last shipment i ordered 2 more, one would bind but kept flashing after and wouldn't control any plane surfaces, and the other lost signal about 50 yards out (luckily it was only in a FT foamy). performed a range test and it failed miserably. HK is replacing both, so good on them for standing behind the product. Will definitely be performing a range test on the replacement ones before they go in a plane.

For the cash it costs you cant complain, all works ok binding was not an issue, I'm not sure I would put it into an expensive model but for my FT foam board park flyer its ok!!

Great hopes great value

I have easily bound this with my new DX8 G2 and are waiting some outdoor weather to come arround. R618XL unusually long wires and shoud give further range. But no where near the length of FM antenas ;)

Don't believe the haters

Dec 25, 2017

I purchased two of the R618XLs for my foamys. I tried both in one plane to see if their was any difference in quality. Their was none. Both performed equally & bound immediately. The only difference I seen between the R818XL and Spektrum other than the price was that they do take longer to come back to life after brown out, (bench tested brown out, had no issues during flight) based on my experience I will only used these receivers on my foams going forward.

Pleased w/performance out to ~800 ft

Oct 04, 2017

Purchased 4 of these units. Tested a pair in 2 aircraft: FT Arrow [flying wing] & a Mini Apprentice S.
Both Rx’s bound quickly with a DX6e [2016] and a DX6 [2017] and held their binds. Flew aircraft +/- 800 feet away w/o a problem. Orientation did not seem to matter either. We never lost connection. We tried to orientate the two antennae in such a way as to maximize antenna surface area relative to any aircraft / Tx orientation. We did this as much as the two different airframes allowed.

R618XL All 3 I have are performing well. I need more.

Jun 11, 2017

I bought another R618XL and have been using the cppm feature on a quad. It works well.
Now I need another one.... :-)
They work well in DLG gliders too. Very small Rx.
